DRM free is giving customers respect back and hoping that they will return it in kind.
Unless you're the type that needs activation limits, online verification, always online DRM, and a multitude of software/hardware locks to be happy then it's not really something you'd immediately associate with piracy. They only make themselves assholes when they abuse a system that is doing everyone a favor.

This deal seems pretty neat: gog.com is selling some select indie titles for as low as two dollars. They're actually games that are surprisingly well known/I'm personally interested in (torchlight, Anodyne, Evoland at the cheapest I've ever seen it). The catch is you need to buy 5 for the discount to be applied and I'm not really able to spare 10+ dollars on videogames right now. But maybe you guys might so heads up!
