I am wondering what to get my brother for Xmas in the Steam Christmas Sale when it arrives, and he has an acer aspire 5552, so I can't buy anything too taxing (it has dual core 2.1ghz processor and Radeon HD 4250, has ram upgraded to 8gb and an SSD) So I was wondering if there is anyone on here who can recommend some games that aren't too high spec - preferably not indie games, as he doesnt care for them, preferably, RTS, RPGs and Shooters, but other stuff as well. Thanks For The Help!

ALSO: HAS TO BE WIN 7 64BIT COMPATIBLE!

Yeah basically what the others have already said, Valve's own games, like Portal, Counter Strike etc. Umm COD isn't demanding either, umm for rpg's, I'd say Oblivion possibly, it's not demanding at all

I'm pretty sure it would, I mean I also have Win 7 64 bit, and I own games older than Morrowind that work just fine

I don't have Morrowind personally though, not yet, I intend to get it though at some point, so I can't say for sure it'll work, but almost definitely will

Torchlight games, as said before are great RPGS/ Dungeon Crawlers that do not require a super high end PC to run.

+1 for Torchlight and Audiosurf

Also, Terraria and Plants vs Zombies are great games that can run on nearly every computer and provide hours of fun!

Get any of these games:

  • Bully: Scholarship Edition.

  • Killing Floor (bad first impression, great gameplay, one of my favourites).

  • Hotline Miami (it has been nominated as GOTY on IGN)

  • Star Wars: Republic Commando or KOTOR 1 (both run on Vista, but i'm not sure about Win7, so google that)
SW:RC is kinda short, but i'm a FPS and it's a blast for playing. KOTOR 1 has an awesome storyline.

  • Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition.

  • Castle Crashers (awesome online co-op, a must have).

  • Doom 3: BFG Edition (lots of value, it can run).

  • The Last Remnant.

  • Burnout Paradise (A must-have for anyone, even if you don't like racing games. Car destruction at it's finest.)

For super, ultra-low spec: Avernum Trilogy. Old school, but an obvious ton of work has gone into them.
