I bought it, here's my general impression. It's organized like this: Small talk, what it needs, the little glitches that ruin the game, and what you do. That last part is in no way demeaning; it's here to help you, reader, see if there's anything you like in the game.
--3079 is really coming along nicely, the engine is powerful, and multiplayer is a blast.
--What it needs right now though is some order - you've got two factions, and they keep shooting each other. It's even worse when strongholds from the two factions spawn two meters from one another. Multiplayer is enjoyable but setting up and joining a server is tiresome - you can't save the address, for one, and it's launched directly from the game instead of a standalone .exe. To tell you the truth though, I've spent some time playing with a friend on our own server and I kid you not, time flew by.
--There's also several glitches that should make the game that much more enjoyable if they were to be fixed. Nothing serious though.
--All in all, what you've got right now is spawn on a map, kill enemies, make some cash, buy equipment, go further (the more you get to the center of the planet, the better the traders) and repeat the process. Construction is possible although it's very limited and we're definitely waiting for a tool to destroy blocks precisely instead of shooting a grenade.
--Towns is a good idea, and there are frequent updates. Plus mods are possible already.
--It's hard to say what it needs in terms of content (most likely new stuff to make, I would say), but a better UI is mandatory. The devs stated they did not want it to turn into micromanagement, but they agree the current HUD must be changed - you don't know how much you have of what, for instance. There's definitely this problem to address to make Towns the kind of game you pick one night and end up playing the whole weekend.
--The whole point is to delve deeper into the mine, which in itself can be pretty fun. At this moment however there are far too many ways to ruin your save. The cave/dungeon/mine/dragon lair/mother-in-law's basement is not the only trouble you'll find. Sometimes enemies attack your village directly from the ground. This is rare and not as exciting as it sounds (it's even called siege!). When you're not plotting against the spiders in level 2, you're tracing zones to put furniture in it which will allow you to get even better furniture or things to make, such as a more filling food.
There's definitely a challenge, although it comes from the inside - namely, the troublesome management.
--Wyv and Keep, lastly, is "cute". There's humor, the levels require you to think from the very first one, and you'll find yourself doing it again just to get the few gold coins.
--I wouldn't call it alpha. It's pretty much a final build, and therefore doesn't need anything. There's multiplayer, a map editor, and a lot of levels.
--It's definitely a multiplayer game. I haven't tried it yet, the interface is hard to understand I must admit (lots of buttons and no tooltips) but I can't wait to play with unevenly matched people just to add to the challenge.
--What you do is straightforward: just grab the gold in the 2D levels, and get one of the character to the exit.
--To be honest though I haven't played much and can't say much more lest I become biased (damn, that's quite a sentence).

Yep, and I'm sorry for the lack of paragraphs and whatnot. Strange formatting.
