What should I buy ?
I'm limiting my budget so that I could also afford a better case. The case I'm using has no cable management route so it's a little hard for a gpu to in. But I'll keep that in mind.

I also recommend the card above! 2GB are not enough for new games and in general if you dont want potatoe settings.
And cases dont really cost so much i got mine for ~25$

there is any general webpage like thereisanydeal but for pc components or pc builds? I need to know what im gonna buy with a budget of 850€ max( -120 with the monitor/screen cause dont have any) so 700-750 as budget.
So the best i saw for me atm is
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B00JR9HOX6/ref=psdc_937994031_t3_B008LZHBXU
as a build but maybe can get something better buying the parts and letting my friends build the pc. Idk im a noob

I only know a webpage like this for Austria, so I cant really help you

there were always minor problems with them here and there
I can second that, except most of them have had huge problems. Hell the one I am using right now (not my PC thankfully) just shit itself 5 minutes ago and I had no video output.

No, luckily not, otherwise it would fly out of the window :D

Random question: IS the 1050ti compatible with all motherboards or is there a limitation? I just googled for the price and 160€ is better than I expected.

Thanks for the reply! Guess it's time to start saving money and in a few months I can play PUBG. :D

Nah, I'm just used to seeing rich people recommend cards like the 1060 1070. It makes me a little bit sad when they say just "add 50-100 dollars" and say like its not a big deal.
Anyways I'm also using the gt series and it's the 730. Just thinking of upgrading the gpu because I had little bit money to spend.

I'd love to have the money to Quad SLI Titan X (Pascal)s and watercool them.

RX 460, the 1050 looks like as if Nvidia went so overboard with the budget build that they might as well have called it "buy a GTX 1060 instead".
Not that the RX 460 is beefier (the actual difference between the cards is like 2-3%), but still at least it almost feels like a semi-decent budget GPU.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not exactly the same models but Tech Yes City has made a benchmark comparison between the RX560 and GTX1050Ti https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v62i1Fcb__s
Comment has been collapsed.
If you're on a budget, maybe you wanna consider AMD? Take 500 series instead of 400 series. I see the Jayacom selling RX560 Pulse for RM599 another one is RX560 Red Dragon for RM579. The best cooling system is always MSI, but it's RM689. Depends on you.
Comment has been collapsed.
would be a miracle if I could see Jayacom as I live in East Malaysia. Don't know if it has any branch located in Sabah.

I had the same dilemma, went with the gtx 1050. It was a bit pricier then the RX 460, but its a bit faster too. My main reason was that I have always used AMD gpu, and grew tired of their problems. Im not saying nvidia cards have less problems, but i wanted to try something different.
2 gb should cover you for medium to high textures at 900p, if that is good enough for you
Comment has been collapsed.
Maybe you should look for a second-hand powerful gpu. Ask some friends.
I don't know anything about new things, I got my HD7870 some years ago from a cousin's friend for 80€, still doing its job perfectly. I'll keep it until it dies, I'm very happy with it.

Most of my friends don't even know that gpus existed. They will most likely buy "gaming" laptops and pre-built systems. I'm kinda envious that you at least know someone in real life who knows about these things.
Comment has been collapsed.
Pff, "gaming laptop", I'd rather buy a car with that money...

I'm just worried that if I buy the TI version, I would't have enough money for the computer case that I'm also thinking of buying.
Comment has been collapsed.
Whats wrong with the computer case you're using right now?
If it's not very urgent, better upgrade to 1050ti 4GB, because this is 2017, and you will need the VRAM for future games.
Also if you're thinking of AMD, try to look for AMD 560 not AMD 460, that's last year product.
Comment has been collapsed.
The case I'm using now is very small and features no cable management route. Just worried that it can't fit the gpu that I'm gonna buy. The price for 560 4GB here is very similar to the price of the 1050ti. Might as well buy the 1050ti if it can fit into my crappy case.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm pretty sure the 1050ti will fit in your case.
I currently use Zotac Nvidia GeForce 1050 ti 4GB OC Edition, and it's a Low Profile card, it doesn't need a power input, so cable management is not necessary.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you don't really really want a new case it's probably not necessary since you can buy smaller 1050ti cards that don't even need extra Power Cables, just plug them into your motherboard and go! The performance boost will be Worth it and you can save your Money for a better case once you really need it.

On the value end of the market it very much depends on what games you play and expect to play. Somebody who plays mostly Counterstrike may want a different card than somebody who plays DOTA2.
Check benchmarks for the games you play and the engines of games you expect to play and remember cards with very similar model names may use entirely different chips.
If you don't have a monitor picked out yet or plan to buy one in the future then FreeSync (AMD) monitors are generally much less expensive than GSync (Nvidia) with few exceptions and both can dramatically improve performance or you can just run VSYNC off and live with the tearing.
Schnapser29 also has a good point, you may be able to pick up a used card at a significant discount.

Wait a little while, the Vega line from AMD is releasing today and if the previews are right it'll shake up the video card market. Ie: price drops on both manufacturers cards, so you may be able to get something "better" in a few weeks for the same price.
Comment has been collapsed.
Geforce 1080 Ti and Titan XP are still faster then any of the Vega cards, plus bitcoin mining is very popular right now, so I doubt we'll see any real price drops.
Comment has been collapsed.
wat? Uh, yes, they most certainly do. In fact, I believe bitcoins core client doesn't even support CPU mining anymore.
I can give you a near infinite number of sources on that, but here are some to start you off:
https://www.bitcoinmining.com/bitcoin-mining-hardware/
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/nvidia-amd-to-release-cheaper-bitcoin-mining-gpus/
https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-milestones-alex-waters-mining-cpu-gpu/
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining
Most miners these days are using PCIe splitters too just so they can use as many GPUs as possible at the same time, as only 1x PCIe lane is needed per-GPU to use them for mining.
Comment has been collapsed.
People don't use GPUs to mine bitcoins for years, as they were exchanged for far more profitable ASIC mining https://www.bitcoinmining.com/bitcoin-mining-hardware/ - dunno how can you find the same source as I did, but can't find there that GPU mining is no longer profitable.
Right now people mine Ethereum on GPUs, and that's the reason why AMD cards skyrocked in price, as they're way better for this task. But marked will collapse (and we will see wave of cheap second hand GPUs) when etherneum price will drop (it's supposed to be ASIC resistant currency).
Comment has been collapsed.
Ok, you're right, I was wrong. I was erroneously thinking of all crypto currency as one and the same when it comes to mining hardware, and only glanced over part of the links I posted.
Sorry about that.

Yes I know, my point was the price on 1060's and RX %70's should be dropping soon.

Beli GTX 1050ti 4gb la brado. Aku pakai ni sekarang and it's pretty good. Kau kumpul duit lagi RM150+ camtu dahhh syok lepas ni main game.
Kalau nak dapat murah sikit cari la second hand kat Mudah or Carousell, nego2 sikit huhu
btw aku beli kat Lelong, tapi mahal sikit la sebab brand new
Comment has been collapsed.
Susah nak beli barang macam ni kalau tinggal dekat labuan ni postage pun mahal. Lagi2 carik barang second hand macam tu. Ni pun aku kena pergi jauh2 beli gpu ni. Aku risau sikit beli barang online ni.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, postage ke sana mahal gila banding dengan Semenanjung. Tapi just to let you know, aku pernah beli barang online dari Lelong and post ke sana (ex aku orang KK). And barang sampai okay je.
So kalau beli online dari Lelong kau jangan risau ba. It's all good, just kena make sure seller tu buyer rating dia 90%+ je.
Kalau barang PC ni aku selalu beli dari either CastleIT atau cwchoo85.
Ni just untuk your future reference la. No pressure bro!

I'm a little bit of worried in buying the NVIDIA gpus after reading the forum you linked.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, AMD fucks up drivers as well (for example, the R9 380(X) cards, but only those, tend to lose the signal while playing certain games, and it is still not fixed), but Nvidia usually manages to fuck them up a lot more spectacularly, as you saw there. This is partly why they release drivers almost every week sometimes, in a sort of "one of them is bound to work eventually" fashion (and usually one in ten works pretty damn well).
Comment has been collapsed.
good thing that I can't afford anything from the R9 series. cries in the corner
Comment has been collapsed.
As talgaby said both AMD and NVidia do release broken drivers. So you should look on GPUs performance, not fan-wars about drivers or Gameworks.
But in general when cards have similar performance it's better to buy one with more memory. They will have the same theoretical performance in few years, but more memory means more "error margin" for shifty unoptimized console ports. And card with more memory will work better (like 960 2gb vs 280x 3gb)
Comment has been collapsed.
From my own experience, in 12 years I only had problem with a NVIDIA card (the card died), and never had problem with AMD (3 or 4 cards).
But in any case I suggest you to get at least 4G memory. Some games require a lot of memory (ex: Batman Arkham Knight)
Comment has been collapsed.
It is irritating that they don't - and clearly a money grab by nvidia. I have a 4k monitor and freesync / gsync would have been nice, but the additional cost for gysync wasn't really an option. Have to always enable vsync on my 4k to prevent tearing, but then are limited to 60 hz. I have a laptop with a 1060 6gb, and the monitor has gsync - it's very cool.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have used AMD cards for the last 10 years and they've worked well. Generally it seems like they give a bit more bang for buck comparing the price points, but that could just be the pricing in my country. And with the next gen knocking at the door, odds are good that the 560s will see a price drop when the new cards launch.
But yes others have said, if you're going with a 1050, go for the Ti version rather, and aim for at least 4 gigs of memory if you want a bit more room before you need to upgrade again. I know everyone wants 4k/400fps/everything on ultra, but a 460 with 4gigs will probably at least get you HD resolution with smooth frame rates for a few years without having to compromise too much on the quality.
Comment has been collapsed.
nah I wouldn't about about the 4k/HD things cause I only have a monitor that can support 1366x768 and I wouldn't be buying any monitors soon. If what you are talking about is true ( about the 560 price drop ) I might consider buying it later this if it manages to drop.
Comment has been collapsed.
I would recommend GTX. From my own experience a lot of games have problem with AMD cards while I never had a single problem with any NVIDIA, which I also feel is much faster.
In the past I had a lot of issues with AMD cards and after switching to NVIDIA I can't be happier

its clearly 1050. and if u can afford to spend a little bit more, just get a Ti version. its much better. and thats the best entry level GPU right now. since the hype for mining ethereum still high :(

ill just drop it here :

Honestly you can toss a coin between the 1050 and 460 right now but 4gb and stronger DX12 performance will make the 460 last a little longer. If you're planning on keeping this card for a while the 4gb 460 is the obvious choice, if not go for whichever is cheaper :)
GL with it!

MYR, so are you in KL? Did you try looking around Low Yat Plaza? You could check on Facebook groups for expats (more likely to be leaving Malaysia/have better stuff) and see if anyone is selling their card. I lived in KL for about a year and used a FB group to find a PC with some older card for about 600 total. Resold it without the hard drive when I moved away for 800. You can profit here!
I recommend the 1050 only because my EVGA 1050Ti is just fine for me. I don't remember if Newegg is available but it was 109 USD months ago with the rebate. Maybe Lazada?
Comment has been collapsed.
I live in East Malaysia ( Labuan specifically ) kinda hard to search for pc parts. And Newegg is unavailable here so the only online store I could search for is Lazada, Lelong and maybe 11street. Sadly no great offers like newegg.

Hey there, I'm currently planning to buy a new gpu. But the problem is I don't which one should I choose the gtx 1050 or the rx 460. My budget for the gpu is only 500-600 MYR that is roughly around 120USD.
I know. The cards I mention are total garbage but it's the only thing I could afford. I see a lot of forums in the internet that when people ask about these two cards they would get shit on and get suggested to buy a more expensive card that is totally out of their budget range.
Please give suggestions on which should I buy and if you could please state a reason. Not sure if there's any suitable cards that is within my budget range that is maybe available later this year but hey, if there is any feel free to suggest it to me.
Edit : one more question. Is it really true that AMD cards often have high temps when playing games ?
Edit2: Thank you for your kind replies. I think I'm gonna save a bit and buy the 1050ti version. But feel free to suggest me which type should I buy (i.e. MSI, Gigabyte and etc. ) Or you can tell me about any AMD card that can rival the 1050ti and have a similar price.
(sorry, don't know if you could understand what I'm trying to say. English isn't my first language)
