Thinking upgrading my pc which is from 08 and in its heart beats Q6600 with motherboard limiting usable graphics cards for couple generations. Current ati radeon hd 4800 512MB is near best it can use. And ram is limited to 3.something GB.

What I am thinking getting is:
Processor: Intel Haswell i5-4690K 270€ why can I find you only as boxed around here
Processor cooler: be quiet! Shadow Rock Slim 50€
Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro gamer or pro wi-fi or pro wi-fi usb 3.1 160-250€
Memory: Corsair 8GB 2 x 4GB Dominator, DDR3 1600MHz, CL9, 1.5V CMD8GX3M2A1600C9 135€
Case fans: 2x Noctua 120 x 120 x 25 NF-F12 PWM old case fans need replacing 2x21€
HDD: Seagate 500GB Barracuda till getting ssd 28€
Graphics card: Geforce GTX 650 from shelf where it has been sitting 0€
Old things reused:
Powersupply: Corsair TX650 0€
Case: What ever this atx case this was 0€
HDD: 2T hdd. 0€

Would that work for at least same ~7-8 years with hdd going to get that ssd sooner or later and graphics card changing?
And would there be something better around same price?

So, uh, try not to use "~ " in closed text; it creates spoilers which make the post hard to read.
You might want to replace the HDD, depending on the age. HDD lifespans vary, but if it's already pushing 5 or so years I would get a new one to make sure no data gets lost.

That 500 Gb hdd would be new one till ssd. was wondering what was causing that effect on text. It has been edited.

I'd go first for a SSD and later would grab a new HDD.

True, get a SSD, it alone boosts performance of system/games/programs that are installed on it by far.

Consider taking Dark Rock 3 instead of Shadow Rock Slim. As of memory - you could buy a Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB (CL9, 1600MHz). GPU - GTX660 could be a little bit better but... whatever floats your boat.

That GTX 650 wouldn't cost anything and gpu would be on upgrade list after hdd.

Oh, okay then. I thought that you're gonna use it to play games and stuff. If it's that way, then it should do atm.

In practice it does make nearly no difference wether you buy 2x4GB for 135€ or the ones for 60-70€.
