Hello everyone,

I'm going to buy some new things and i need some advices.

First of all i need a UPS for sure. I'm running on a I5 4690k and a GTX 780 with a XFX 650W PSU and a normal 24" LED screen. I've also two extra external HDD. I need a good choice, since i don't want something like Trust that i read it could burn after two months only...

Well, after that i need a new headset. Mine is still working yeah, but it's damaged a lot. It's a Corsair H2000. So yep, i'm looking for a wireless headset, there aren't many choices, i just don't know if i should be going ahead with a new Corsair H2100 that's not bad plus i'm already used to utilize the old ones. The other option is the Logitech G930 but that has some compatibility issues with Windows 10 from what i know. There are some other types like Asus ROG/Strix or so, but meh...

Then a new keyboard could be nice. Now i'm typing on a simple 10€ Logitech, but a mechanical one would be awesome even if the price, sigh... Makes me cry. Almost of them are very expensive. Any suggestion? The G910 Logitech is insteresting, but also the Corsair CG K95 it's nice and so are the Razer Blackwidow Chroma or the SteelSeries Apex M800.

In the end i could change my mouse even if it's the last thing i need to change for now since it's a Razer Deathadder 2013 and it works fine. Just in case, is there anyone that tried the Logitech G502? It looks like an half way from a "normal" gaming mouse and one of those weird MadCats RAT. Obviously with it i should get a new mousepad. :c

So yeah, i could do a Logitech c-c-c-c-combo breaker, except for the UPS.

Thanks in advance for all the replies. :o

Expand the post in the first section, stick with tier 1 and 2 to be safe.

But why? UPSs are for servers where it is a must to back up sensitive data before power loss. What do you have that warrants such safeties? Almost all consumer-grade content creation programs have periodic shadow/auto save features. Even if you are a professional streamer/online gamer, you cannot gain any benefits from running a few more minutes since the modem/switch/router already lost power and connection, so your session has already ended anyway.

I don't know what kind of coding to make a url link so ill just paste the url, Logitech's new keyboard is pretty damn sexy and has great functionality plus it comes with a copy of the division, so if you were going to buy it, well just subtract the price of the game from the keyboard.

I got to take home an APC smart-UPS 1500 for free when the support contract of my workplace ran out, and they got a newer model,
Just had to order a new battery from ebay for around $65 and it has been running smoothly for the past 2 years :)

This may not help you if you really want mechanical, and I've heard that mechanical feels better, but my motto has always been ten 10€ keyboards will last you longer than one 100€ keyboard. And thanks for the train.

Can't help you on the headset and the keyboard, but own a G502 for a couple of months now... and I LOVE that 12k dpi sensor. Downside is that it took some getting used to the shape but that might be personal. The button layout is also a bit odd in that one of the (programmable) extra buttons is right next to the 'left click' and especially early on, you WILL be accidentally hitting it. (I ended up binding it to "nothing")

"modular" weights system works, but I've been using it empty since it's already on the medium-to-heavy side for a mouse to begin with, but if you want a heavy mouse, you certainly can use that. The solid metal scrollwheel feels great too. And it's a Logitech gaming mouse, plenty of tweaks and options in the software are to be expected, right? so, switching between multiple levels of sensitivity, (everything from 200 to 12k), report rates, programmable buttons (not just keybinds, also multi-key macros and commands). And surface tuning, if you're into that sort of thing.

Biggest downside is that another mouse just feels sluggish after you get used to it... so yeah, expect to be a spoiled elitist afterwards.

Definitely recommended, just try to find it at a great price... 'cause it's pricey.

About the mechanical keyboard, have you ever tried one? It is something completely different from a conventional rubber dome one. Some people don't like them at all, some of them make noise when you type and, depending on the switches, they offer more or less resistance to the pressing of each key.

And of course, they're worth the investment only if you type a lot; I mean, if you're a programmer, a writer, a journalist or something like that. Take a look at this video to hear them in action.

Oh gosh, Cherry MX Green looks like a typewriter, lol. Btw also my crappy 10€ keyboard do a lot of noise. :s

I'll look better in next days. Thanks for the video!

More important than mechanical or rubber imo is n-key rollover or ghosting if you're an avid gamer.
Also, just curious. Why do you need an UPS?

I read something about antighosting, and in the guide they said most of mechanical have at least wasd binded for that. Maybe.

UPS because Italy. I live here unfortunatelly, an old country made with old infrastructure. The electricity crash a lot in a year...
I bought my new PC an year ago and it was taken down more than 10-12 times. I already needed to change the motherboard battery since i started to have problems... And i feel lucky motherboard and GPU are still safe.

Ooh, that is not good. Thank god the electricity here is quite stable. Very rare for it to fall out. But then again I'm only a Km away from the next electric power transformation substation :)
Anyway, back to the ghosting. A mechanical kb still is not a guarantee that ghosting won't be an issue so it's always best to read as many reviews from reputable sites as possible.
Also, it depends on what games you play i.e how many different keys are pressed in rapid succession.

Well... I must admit, on League Of Legends, when i panic i start to press all random keys i can press. Q-W-E-R F-D and 1-2-3 for activable items if avaiable.

Here is an excellent explanation explaining ghosting - https://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/antighostingexplained.mspx
which is not the same as nkro https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOkV9BalNcw

Most good mechanical gaming keyboards will support nkro.

Most people use a UPS when they have a poor mains power supply. A UPS can act as a conditioner keeping the power that gets sent to the pc "clean". Brief power outages (seconds to minutes) can be handled from battery power, and should the power not be restored in time, the PC can be set to shut down cleanly (instead of the "instant off" technique, which can result in data corruption).

Maybe read this - and consider if it sounds like a UPS would solve your problem: http://www.kadansky.com/files/newsletters/2014/2014_08_31.html
