The point remains the same, as G2A isn't really a "legitimate" site for buying games in most eyes.
The devs want an insulting amount of money for the game, in my opinion at least.
They were crazy if they ever truly believed they could get people to buy it (via a site they would approve of you buying the game) AND get pay the subscription fee...
Again, just my opinion.

Don't know what to say about the g2a thing, i thought it was legit and did know of many ppl that buy from there their games, so i thought i could give it a try. Of course the devs wanted an absurd amount of money, not only for the game itself, someone should have paid the subscription fee, that's why I only bought the base game with 30 days of game and nothing more; it was not worth it. Now i think TESO could stand a chance against the other MMOs but we will have to wait and see.

Oh now i get it.
Actually i played for the first week but i got easily bored, can't tell exactly why but there were few things that i didn't like. I was expecting some improvements on the combat side ( i played TESO while it was in beta), but still it was not "fluid". Don't know if it is the right word for describing it, but i was expecting a more "skyrim like" combat, instead i found something that remembered me of Morrowind "with lag". That's not a bad thing, not at all at least, but that was not what i "wanted" from a "subscription fee game". The other thing were pretty nice but nothing that i found worthy of paying a lot of money for. That's why i'll give it a "third" chance, hoping I will change my mind and maybe enjoying myself a little more

How so? I've never directly spoken to anyone who has been ripped off, and selling product keys is not actually against any law.
Comment has been collapsed.
These sites are still currently legal thou, just frowned upon some what by Devs, wouldn't happen if they charged everyone the same price
Comment has been collapsed.
Devs frown upon it because those sites sell keys that have no proof of origin (they have fallen out of a truck
), and are being resold without the devs consent. Another issue is that the sites use logos of various publishers to make them look like they have credibility, while in fact the publishers are not in any way affiliated with those sites (as proven by Ubisoft deactivating stolen keys sold on G2A/Kinguin).
Your last point just goes to show that you give support to those sites because you want to get games cheaper, not caring if you support shady business in the process.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's still 100% legal. The first topic you linked is one person having a bad experience. I bought one game and got it without any issue and I know many others have as well. The store is legit, it's a shame that the person you linked had a bad experience, but overall the store is legit because it serves many customers without a hitch.
Kinguin isn't G2A.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a shame you can't discern between a real store and a car trunk salesman
. The fact that you had no issue with it doesn't make it any more legal or legit. They ask you to BREAK THE STEAM TOS in order to activate their products, how the fudge is that legit? And it seems you might have just read the OP instead the whole threads, or otherwise you'd understand why G2A and the likes are shady business practices.
Comment has been collapsed.
paranoidnendoroid both kinguin and G2A belong to the same company and they aren't authorized resellers. This means there's no way to know where they get their keys since they don't buy them directly from devs/publishers. They might get their keys from cheaper regions and resell them, using a grey market which isn't supposed to exist. The problem is that they don't always use this market, in fact, kinguin allows almost anyone to sell on their site so stolen keys and keys acquired by fraudulent means are often sold there.
That is the reason most DEVs frown upon these sites, they "often" acquire keys by using charge-backs and other ways to not pay those keys then resell them. If the company revokes those illegal keys most of the customers are quick to raise the pitchforks against those companies.
The fact that you can get working keys doesn't mean that they are authorized. Everytime you buy a game on kinguin/G2A/etc. you are "gambling" your money since you have no idea where that keys comes from.
Sites like nuuvem, GMG, GG and amazon get their cd-keys directly from DEVs/publishers so if there's a problem with their key they can just request another.

Thats the modern development. Todays gaming comunity is willing to pay for every unfinished sh** that gets published. Just think about the last Cim City... Or X-Rebirth for example: After they gave up the bugfixing for X3 and TC because they were unable to manage the crazy mess on bugs there (i was working on the code myself for years as a part of developing comunity, the code is in fact a mess...) it was NOT unexpected, that the new title will be published in an unplayable state).
To come back to Bethesda: Skyrim is still unplayable, if you want to finish all possible quests but are not using the wiki (there is a quest timeline with informations like "if you complete this quest A, before quest B, then quest C gets bugged, D will be raped apart, E will run in circles with its pants off, F ..." ect.)
Comment has been collapsed.
This is way too true, sadly enough; an unfinished game gets pushed to release, support continues a year or so, then the game gets abandoned with lots of bugs and faults and whatnot. 'Tis sad.
Luckily, there are some very nice indies, and games such as Planetary Annihilation, that, while being far away from feature perfect and everything, is actively being worked on by developers who engage with the community on a daily base; the community has a lot of influence.
None the less, all in all...
Comment has been collapsed.
Planetary Annihilation is a rly bad example ^_^ The devs did start with a price of 89€ on steam (or was it 95?). Made one promise after another in the past 2 years and did keep only a hand full of them. In my eyes they are much worser comparing to EA, todays Bethesda and EGOSOFT together, but thats how subjective opinions work :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Not really; they made the price intentionally extremely high, so that many people wouldn't (be able to) buy it, so that their servers wouldn't be overloaded.
Only, they didn't keep the PR aspect in mind, so yeah... Now it comes across as if they're being ridiculous.
What promises aren't kept? They're actively working on the game, and have over the months - years - added much of what first was missing. The game may be released, but it's really still in development.
Basically, what you're seeing here is a wholly different development model, which is why people talk about these weirdly high prices and the unfinished end product; that was no end price and there is no end product, yet.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure; that's Kickstarter for you. You should probably add the caveat that the developers were intentionally charging exorbitant rates - which is why alpha access was 80 or 90 Euros or so, and the further along the game came, the lower the price became - but that, again, is related to Kickstarter (alpha access and all being a higher tier reward).
So yeah, that sounds about right. As I said, it's a whole different model of game development.

€59.99 in a country where the minimum salary is just over 360€ and to rent a one bedroom apt you need at least 100€ (and that's without any utilities). Need I say more?
The difference between TESOL and this is, if I had that sort of money to spend on a game I would gladly do it.
If I do manage to get it you'll be the first to know :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Pfff most of the girls I know wouldn't even dream of playing the game, let alone discussing it. Asking them to discuss romance options would be like slapping them in the face.
Thank god for the Web for these sorts of things, you can meet the nicest people who share your interests <3

convert to the wonder that it is cullen and his floofy pauldrons. also his happy trail. >D
but yeah, I could be convinced. ;D What sort of pose did you want/any particular bits of clothing left on? Zevran never really interested me that much so I don't know much about him.
Comment has been collapsed.
That Cullen's pose got me thinking of Zevran's line "Arr! Pirate Zevran reporting for duty! Prepare to be boarded!" xD
I do love my men showing their chest, arms and that sexy six-pack and I can see you're able to draw that amazingly so I wouldn't mind seeing that :D
But, let's keep it sexy and leave something to the imagination- he should be wearing pants (showing of the happy trail is encouraged) <3 <3 <3
I'll leave everything else to your artistic design and aesthetics since you obviously know how to make me happy :D
Comment has been collapsed.
I was thinking something like this for the pose, lying on the floor (on a fur rug if possible) and leaning on one hand.
Put whatever you want as far as jewelry is concerned as long as it's not covering the yummy parts mentioned above XD
I just want that the image to evoke that sentence and the feeling of him reporting for duty in my mind ;D ;D ;D
If I went on describing I'm not sure it would be appropriate for younger audience. xD
P.S: Feel free to use this hunk of burnin' love as further inspiration for Zevran's body (Vane from Black Sails)

Well for me it would be a hardship as I couldn't draw this to save my life xD
Also, you're super pleased? I'm the one that SUPER pleased! :D
I just LOVE it and can't seem to take my eyes off the abs and the <3 trail
Thank you again!
I don't think there's anything else to say except...

I'm with you on that one. Or a Mass Effect Online would be totally awesome.

The number of people predicting this and the F2P is too damn high.
Comment has been collapsed.
B2P (buy to play) model is it...not F2P..there is a difference. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't like F2P that much. You tend to get more trolls and kids playing those games. I like Guild Wars 2 because you have to pay a fee right away which cuts out a lot of trolls and kids. Having the game B2P is fine. Idk why everyone is hating on the game so much, a couple of months after it released they fixed a lot of issues with the game. Now I stopped playing after update 3, but I hear it's only getting better and I enjoyed my time when I played it. I will be going back after they turn it B2P.

I might end up buying it, i love the Elder scrolls universe.

Meh. SWTOR went f2p too. Became horrible money sink that impairs people trying to play without paying. I started as f2p. And I HAD TO subscribe, or I would have to spend weeks on leveling one character to get the class quests done, and thus play throught the story(which was my main goal). I did my first character(Sith Warrior)as pure f2p. It was bad... Later on I subcribed, got most of the classess to 50(then 55, as the expansion launched, PAID expansion, luckily it was very cheap for subbers). Few weeks after RotHC launch I quit the game. Never going back...
Games that go f2p at some point are just going for more money. WoW was mentioned above... WoW doesn't need to go f2p, it makes enough money being p2p. Games like SWTOR or TESO... Those are niche titles compared to WoW. They won't earn enough being p2p. F2p is the only option, and f2p made in a way that is alluring and nearly unplayable at the same time. It makes people pay even more and more, generating higher income than straight subscription model would for said game. Because f2p will attract new players, some of them will quit soon, others will play. Many of those who stay will start to spend money.
tl;dr: Mo monies for the company than with sub. Pleb will take the bait, as I did with SWTOR.
Comment has been collapsed.
Totally, i just can"t play swtor anymore... spending weeks to level up and doing my quest don't really bother me as i still level up as the same rythme of difficulty of the quest, but seriously being able to put ONLY 2 objet in market + not having the possibility to equip purple stuff (seriously, no purple at HL you just get rape) + a ridiculous limitation of max credit (3 day after beginning the game, i had reach this limit of 200k already... and most of HL stuff are obviously several millions) and a looooot of other little limitation.... That f2p was the worse f2p experience i ever had even though the game have some good point (story / graphic).
A lots of f2p game are just crap, hope TESO with being a b2p instead of f2p will still be able to offer a correct experience to player.
Comment has been collapsed.
Dude, I had about 50 milion credits from AH speculation(just 8 hours a day on AH, you can do it). Didn't sub, credits got into "escrow" or some kind of shit like that. I actually went back to check on the game before the launch of this Revan expansion. I learned I would have to buy thingies from cartel market to unlock the cash even if I subbed. Table flipped. This game is dead for me. Liek so ded.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, i had to use one of my friend that had sub as a walking wallet xD he kept my money and when i had something really expensive, he bought then gave me.
But if you suscribded, you would have acess to all your money without buying the surplus thing to ge tit back normally.
Comment has been collapsed.
Meh, good on you. I didn't have anyone to give my cash to when my sub was running out. And I didn't really think to buy account wide unlocks off AH, for epic gear, vanity unlocks, etc. I'd be able to play "normally" as f2p after that. But fuck it. I need a job, not a game now.

The worst SWTOR F2P restriction by far is the chat-functionality. A friend and I attempted to co-op it shortly after the game transitioned and discovered that we couldn't communicate at all. Group/party chat was restricted, private tells were restricted, the in-game mail was restricted and while certain of these restrictions would disappear once we reached level 10, I believe, slogging through that first hour in silence tainted the experience. We quit before ever saying a word to one another and I've no regrets.
EDIT: The display/remove helmet cosmetic is also amusing. Never thought I'd see that as a purchasable option in any game. Well, apart from Maplestory... and I'd argue that when your AAA title sports the same cosmetic "options" as a niche anime platformer, something is amiss.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wish we'd had the option, mate, truly. Her internet connection couldn't handle it, though, and the long-distance nature of a call rendered an hour-long phone conversation prohibitively expensive.
None of this is to say that I don't comprehend the rationale behind these particular restrictions (stop scammers, gold-sellers and whatnot, most of whom would sooner find an easier target than a game that requires they actually play), but they were unduly prohibitive in our case.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have zero issues with playing a subscription fee if the game I'm subscribing to is good.
So far, I only felt comfortable subscribing to 4 MMOs in the last 15 years:
Final Fantasy XI
Final Fantasy XIV
World of Warcraft
TERA (before it went F2P)
The Elder Scrolls Online just isn't one of those games, so I'm glad it's going free-to-play. Though it still has a steep admission price.
Comment has been collapsed.
What do you mean by that, is that the game will be a B2P ? (no suscribing, no F2P) and possibly "dlc" wich we will have to pay too ?
If that is it, i think its a good idea (well, it was obvious with this game that they will turn it b2p or f2p quite soon anyway)
If it is f2p ill look, if b2p ill look but later :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Good thing, i tried gw2 and the secret world as b2p, I had a good experience with them, and for the price, i think with all the time spent the expense were cover :D When you think there is people buying 60 € for a games they can finish in an afternoon... Some b2p mmo are a really good alternative.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wonderful, now you only need to pay once to get shit.
Nah, back to Skyrim.
Comment has been collapsed.
If they had done this at release, they may have had a different outcome. Now the game is old news, and tarnished by its past. They have lost the momentum that they would have had at day one, and aren't likely to get it back. No doubt this game will shamble on for another year or two [tops] before the money men pull the plug.
Good riddance to greedy, exploitative companies and their games.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a multiplayer game that should probably be free. Or at least, not so overpriced. So meh, not more interested than I was, which wasn't much already.
Comment has been collapsed.
Give it about 6 more months and they will even abandon the need to buy the game. It will be f2P with full store transactions.
Comment has been collapsed.
Never played it, never bought it. Cared much about the series, but saw failure coming. Rekt

game looks interesting, now without a monthly subscription fee, i would buy it...but its to expensive on Steam...and and i dont care about the cheap TESO-Keys you get for like 20€, i want it on Steam... so i guess i wait for a price drop on Steam. :)

So like I already said in the title, to play TESO the only thing you'll need is the base game. This is what I hoped from a long time and now it seems is going to be real! What are your expectations, or your first impressions? Do you even care? lol
