Exactly, if you can afford only 1-2 AAA games a year, why don't you wait for Steam winter(summer) sales? You can get more games for the same price as 2 new AAA games.. do you really need to play them just when they get released? I have like.. 3 years buffer, where I buy games 3 years after their release (or when they are cheap)... that way I can have way more games.

I almost never pay more than $20 for a game, and you can usually get any game for $20 within its first year of release. Prices have been falling faster than ever and its glorious! Of course, it also means that my backlog has been outpacing my completion rate for quite some time.

Hey dizzee,
I haven't got too much money either since I'm still attending university. Whenever a really really awesome game like GTA V comes around there is no way for me to not get it on the first day of its release which isn't as pricey as it seems.
After I paid the usual 60 € back when Mafia 2 came out and felt cheated like I never did in my entire life! That 'game' is a real good graphic demo which is really loosely tied to the first Mafia since there are cars in both. The 'game' itself was so crappy that I swore to never ever buy full priced games again. Then I found out about some sites from the uk where for some reasons games cost around 50% of what german retailers would charge and their not even mutilated like german releases!!!
If you think getting Batman Arkham City with the Blurays of the good Nolan Batman movies on the day of its release for 34€ including shipping is a nice deal as well, ask dr. google about the sites and save big time.

are you talking buying them on release at full price? cause with the steam sale and other sales you can easily afford more than 2 a year on the same budget. You just wont play them on release day, but it will save you any of the bugs and server fails that games usually launch with.
recently i bought a game on GMG using a 25% voucher and got the game for 22 instead of 30 and earned 12 in credit, so i then used a 25% voucher and the 12 in credit to preorder another game for 48 instead of 60 and this also gave me another 12 credit that i used to order another game and a 20% voucher which got me batman origins for 28 instead of 50. while not everyone can buy many games even at discount i went ahead and did it while i could make use of the vouchers and credit to get a better deal on games i knew i would buy later on anyway.

I never buy games when they are released, if the price is over $20. I wait for the price to drop or they go on sale. I could probably afford to buy more than 1-2, but it's just not worth that much in value for me anymore, I already have more games than I can play anyway. Especially since 90% of them these days come with some stupid DLCs. I'd rather wait until there is a GOTY or complete package and get the whole thing together.

I would have great difficulty affording many full priced games on release but I take advantage of Russian traders and good promotions like the AMD bioshock / tomb raider deal that I got for like 20 eur pre release. Its usually a lot cheaper this way.

+1.People need to learn patience and stop complaining.
If you are low on money,DO NOT buy full priced games. AAA titles will be a lot cheaper in trading and shops after a few months.I got bioshock infinite for 7 keys a week ago. That's around 10 euros. And I bet,in the future the game will be even cheaper.

I could probably afforcd more but that would mean cutting back on some other expenses. My kids, you know, they expect to be fed every single day, can you believe it? Anyway, I've got plenty of games to play with so I juts wait for sales. I don't have a single game in my library that was bought at full price. And only a very small number of them were bought with less than 50% off.

So yeah I got 60 euros saved up for GTAV (If It's ever coming to PC) but there also also great games coming to Steam which I'd love to get. Definitely not getting CoD this year cuz I've gotten sicken tired of it. Anyways should I get some other great game or wait for GTAV because I might not have money by the time It gets released if I buy something else.
