Why? Would be much easier to just have people download the addon than it would be for the site's maintainer to spend the time coding it into the site itself. Not to mention, if it were added to the site, it could then introduce a whole plethora of bugs that would have to be fixed. If people have problems with the addon, they simply don't use it. Much easier.

I hate the add-on, so I would love something like this.

I hate all of the forum and comment add-on shit.
I just want the ability to filter giveaways.

So then turn it off?
Occasionally endless scrolling fucks up for me, so I just turn it off. Problem solved. As far as I know, every part of the addon is independently controlled so if you don't want to use a particular section (i.e. giveaway comments and/or forum) just disable them at the top of the page.

I actually think this is a great idea... When you make a topic, before you finally post it, it gives you related topics to words you've used in the one you are making.

I don't think people "hate" the add-on, really, it's that they would appreciate if CG would implement the functions of the add-on into the site directly. I'm one of those. I like the functionality the add-on offers, but I don't have it installed (my case is laziness, but for others it could be more serious reasons like inability to understand how to install it).

The add-on is a nice kludge but a server-side implementation would be much more efficient. Plus it would work wherever I am instead of just at home, and in any browser. It would be much faster since it wouldn't require loading pages after pages of giveaway you can't enter for no other reason than to ignore them.

The list is already saved on the server, at least the part that it get from synching. And not only the load from the SQL query wouldn't be that much higher, but it would greatly reduce the amount of data that the server would have to send to users so in the end it might even actually reduce the load.

There is an addon for this site that already implements said feature.

Seeing as people keeps complaining about the number of ship, Dota etc giveaways why don`t we have a Reddit style filter feature where you can choose not to see particular games?
