EDIT: The test has ended, and the giveaways are soon over - so i am taking the download link down.
Thanks to everyone who helped out, much appreciated :)

Hi everyone,

Want a chance to win one of these great games? and want to help out a student midway through their masters in the process?

  • Mad Max
  • The Adventures of Van Helsing 1
  • The Adventures of Van Helsing 2
  • This War of Mine
  • Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons
  • Chaos on Deponia
  • Goodbye Deponia
  • Naissancee
  • Contagion

We are 3 students currently doing a project where we need your help, all you have to do is play our game through twice and fill out a couple of questionaires about your playtime. The game lasts a maximum of 10 minutes per playthrough.
At the end of the last survey you'll be given the links for the giveaway.

To play the game:

LINK REMOVED

I cannot tell you what the game or questionaires are testing for, as it would create biases for the test, though I can say that the game is a first person game, but won't require much of you other than your attention :)

You are welcome to give critiques about the game, however it will not be developed further on by us, as it is just a test framework for a concept paper.

*Note: The UI may seem clunky or scaled/placed badly in some resolutions/cases - we are aware, but it is not important for the test.

Thank you in advance, and good luck :)

Did two playthroughs and wrote a lengthy text of comments in the final survey :) I felt that what this game lacked most was variety. Also, during my second playthrough, the arrow got bugged and when I eventually found what I was looking for, the game stopped responding :/ Started it up again and was taken to the final survey screen, so I guess I technically still finished the game :D Thanks for the giveaways!

played it, frankly it was rather boring, completed first part in 5 minutes, second part game crashed at the 5 minute mark aswell or so, just as i picked the gem in the forest(no stone warriors), what do i do now?

i started the game again, moved to the final survey, worked out XD,

It was an interesting playthrough, I definitely see potential in it if you decide to really work on it. I was constantly thinking about what the game could become and what I'd do with it, especially in the way of story (writing stories is my major talent ^_^)

Thank you, though we will not work further on it. Some technical parts will make it into our next game, as they are part of a concept paper we are writing. This only serves as a basis for that concept, at best it could be a testbed for a revision of a few elements.

Cool~ So what is the paper about? I'm curious now XD

In short it is about procedural content generation - well more specifically, right now it is about forming a concept about integrating procedural storytelling into a procedural world. While the narrative aspects of this demo are not that advanced, it is more about having a basis for creating a more elaborate platform in a follow-up paper.

Did 4 playthroughs, willing to share my detailed opinion on steam. I've sent you friend request on steam as well.
Speaking shortly: i really liked your game, thanks for making it. Hope it will reach some decent-sized audience.

Thank you, though as stated in the post we will not be doing anything further with this game again. The game was simply a means to form a basis for a concept paper, and will only be used as a reference point. When we continue on the subject we will likely develop an entirely new game, but borrow some very technical techniques from this :)

Plz no unity ;_;
Unity is probably the most poorly optimized game engine in existence. If you ever do something similar again, use Unreal Engine.

Honestly this your game is not half bad! You can kick it up a notch I already have a few ideas that might help you make the game more interesting and fun in the same time. Overall I give this game :D 7/10 :P XD
Thanks for letting me to be a game tester

Played it twice, it wasn't bad, maybe a little boring after a while.

This game could be really good with some work! My main complaint is it was surprisingly demanding on my PC's resources. I imagine that's because Unity is a bad engine though. The game stopped responding multiple times and I even got some frame rate drops.

This could just be my PC though so take it with a grain of salt. Good work :)

Edit: I'm not sure if controller compatibility is a thing you're working on, but I plugged in my Xbox controller to check it out and I was unable to move the camera while walking.
