why do people care so much for their products to be on steam? I can understand not wanting to use Origin, but you can still download the game using Amazon's downloader, and then add the game as a Non-Steam game (if you want), and still play it just like any other.
Its like some people don't know how PC gaming ever existed without Steam (or Origin). Its sad, really.

Maybe just usability? I use steam since 2004 and just love it. I do not buy any games in normal packages anymore since they just use up free space and when you lose your cd or cd-key you're often fucked. With steam I don't have to backup my games or stuff like that, I just install steam on a new machine and tada! all my games ready to be downloaded.
Maybe some people use other programs for their games, but I use steam and if a game is neither for free nor on steam I will not buy it, might be a bit radical but that's how I do it.
