Steam Beta chat not working just for me ?

I literally can't even open a chat with someone ... the chat window pops up and disappears. Tried restarting, didn't help. Anyone else having issues?

A complete cluster fuck just like every Steam beta. I've already opted out of the beta as it's just not worth the hassle.

usually always ready to try your betas, here.

tried this thing for two weeks. got a blinking xmas tree (with sound), felt like a dev made a clicker, even before reaching the "F as Focus" chapter in its "everyone is a dev" favorite book.

so, "opt out of all your betas" for me, too.
