Ys Origin or Ys: The Oath in Felghana?

IMO, YS: Origin.

I'm also thinking about getting all three, I played them some time ago at a friend's house and it is a tough decision. Basically they're quite the same, just differing in Story and Characters. If I had to choose I'd propably go with Oath but I hold it higher due to Memories. You propably should take Origin because you can choose your character and you also have a third to unlock so there is more replay value. I'm still hoping for a 75%, then I'll get all three with a heartbeat :) No matter which you pick, they're both great

I own them both and have finished them both. Origin is much easier than Oath, and has 3 playable characters (each with their own version of the storyline) while Oath only has 1. That makes Origin more replayable but both games have quite a few difficulty levels. I can't really say to get one over the other, they are both great games.

You should get both for sure! I enjoyed Origin more because the boss battles were so much more fun. Oath in Felghana plays more like an RPG though in the sense that you'll be running to a town, run to a dungeon, buy stuff from town, etc, etc. Origin is like one huge 15 hour dungeon that just gets harder and harder while each few floors changes themes so it doesn't get repetitive. The boss battles were just so much more awesome in Origin though IMO and that's what puts it over the top for me.

They're both great, but I liked Origin better.

Thanks for all the answers. I've already decided that I'm going to buy Ys Origin, and if I like it I may buy Oath in Felghana in the future. As for what you say, Oath in Felghana is more "old-school" and right now I'm looking for something more like how you describe Ys Origin.

origin is just a repeat of the storyline from chronicles so if you already played that prepare to feel dejavu

Guys, is there a sequential order in which the Ys series goes in?

Origin is the better one for me, although Oath in Felghana is also really good. I suggest actually going with Oath in Felghana, beating it and eventually getting Origin.
