It's a steam coupon/ key giveaway thread on the forum. Similar to the 'orphan keys drop thread' here. So not much backstory or anything on the origin of the keys. However there is quite a bit of speculation that the keys will be revoked.

I hope they don't get revoked. but at the same time it's not much of a loss to me. This is the only way i will ever get the game, cause it's not something I would buy. especially since like a lot of others it will no doubt be abandoned.

I didn't even try getting a key. But I have friends who bought the game way back, when it was still in alpha (about 6 years ago I believe). Apparently it's worse now than it was in the alpha demo, as the main gameplay has been completley remade and a bunch of mechanics changed. So a lot of people are apparently really dissapointed in the game now (at least out of the community who had the game since apha).

But yeah, we'll see, and congrats on getting a key!
