Did you like the cave exploration?
Forgot to mention we want to play together, added that in but thanks anyways! And TESO is a bit ech in my opinion. Meadow looks somewhat interesting though.

You can do multiplayer in meadow. And Tamriel online. There are also free mmorpg's like Terra and Riders of Icarus. (there's a monthly event going on in Icarus right now if you log in for two days you get to have a dragon mount which is awesome. So flying.)
EDIT: Forgot about Terraria. :D

Hmm, you could keep an eye out for Savage Lands. It's still in early access much like The Forest is.
The Long Dark would probably suit your needs better, but unfortunately, it's not multiplayer.
Edit: Just remembered I had The Wild Eight wishlisted, it looks promising as well (coming soon)!

The Wild Eight definitely looks like a promising game. I am adding that to my wishlist. Thanks!

I was gifted The Forest and played through it with a friend. We heavily focused on exploration rather than building base. The 3 of us enjoyed exploring the spooky caves and the mysteries they held. Sadly, we ended up skipping a huge chunk of the caves and fell right into the final cave system, finishing the game a while later.
We loved the game but we all agreed that it wouldn't be as mysterious or interesting if we went back to it to search more. That Is why I ask if any of you know of anything that might interest us that has similar aspects to what I speak of. (exploration, multiplayer, mystery and bonus if it is spooky.) Wanting a multiplayer game like this really limits things sadly.
Thank you for taking the time to read!
