To all who received a steam-gift for free for "Minion Masters"...

There's a new e-mail today which specifically states it's a fresh key to give to a friend so you can play together (the e-mail also lists the initial key sent for your own use, along with the new key for a friend).

"Minion Masters Free Access Key for your friend:"

I, for one, got a bunch of keys from them: the one I signed up for initially, one to give to a friend and a key for some winter content and like two keys for Forced Showdown DLC. And yeah, you are right that they resent the initial keys a few times, but if you look through your more recent emails you might find the extra keys.

And all activated games spawn a new steamgifts copy in inventory when you relog client. Gun Monkeys and Dead Island beta deja vu.

Its illegal to 'find someone to gift to' if it's a free key Giveaway leading to suspension. There is a reason just plain Minion Masters doesn't figure in names of gifts you can giveaway here. Please be careful so you stay safe.

According to a dev reply on the forums, "Thank you too, just spreading some Christmas surprises during the Frisky Friend Fiesta :)"
So its the dev spreading holiday cheer (and trying to increase their player / beta tester base)

That is true, you can read it here: "Dear player, we would like to make you aware that Minion Masters will be Free to play in the future. The reason it has a price now, is that we would like to form and shape the game with a smaller number of dedicated players, before we open it up to a broader audience.".
