Can you remove someone from your blacklist?
I like giving people second chances and remove people pretty regularly when I believe they have learned thier lesson, whether that's actually them accepting they did something wrong or realizing not to do it on sg anymore. The current 16 people on there have still been assholes and rulebreakers since I last checked my bl.

Thank you for the ride!
Recently I mutually cleared some 6 months old blacklists.
It all depends on what they did and/or said.

It does, it says "Thankyouagain!".
Edit: Never mind ;)

choose one person to give a second chance and post a comment saying why you did it.
I'm not going to do that, and I'm posting a comment why. Because one of them was a difficult winner (ignoring on purpose) so I prefer to not deal with him in future, and the rest are people who have blacklisted me for this reason you mentioned:
Blacklisting people that have a different opinion?
I think blacklist should go both ways, because why would I give games to someone who chose to "hate" me and not give theirs to me.
I'm really keeping my blacklist to minimum, it has 7 or something people in it, and I see no one who'd be there for a silly reason like thanks or no thanks or opinions.

I don't usually blacklist people who blacklisted me. However, I understand what you mean with the counter-blacklist. But should it be automatic or manual?
Manual counter-blacklist can be tricky because you don't know if someone blacklisted you until you try and access their giveaways.
Automatic counter-blacklist has some problems too, because if original blacklister sees you're giving away an interesting game, they can unblacklist you (so counter-unblacklist themselves), enter your giveaway and then immediately re-blacklist you, so their entry is valid even if counter-blacklisted.
What do you think?

If it was about what I prefer, everything would be visible and manual. More information, more control. But there's that "forum drama" argument everyone brings up against that, so whatever, not even going to try to push this suggestion. Automatic hidden with some kind of time limits would be fine, too. Something like you can only use the BL button with one person once per ~3 months or something.

Some sort of time limit was what I was thinking about :)
Maybe an automatic system which can be enabled/disabled by the user

Or some kind of notification when someone wants to un-BL you that you have to accept for it to work. Or some kind of "can't un-BL while user has active GAs" kind of thing to avoid leeching. Whatever really, I have no real issue with current system either, whatever. shrug

It may be unlikely, but I really wouldn't take my chances. I have better to do than trying to add people on Steam and writing them e-mails... only for them to accept my friend request, ask "who are you" and when I tell I'm from SG and they won something from me, get deleted and ignored on. Sure, he got his suspension and I got my feedback requested from support, but I'd rather not have these issues. And he had same stuff with his previous wins too. I will remove him if he proves he has changed, but I have no reason to think that right now.

I don't blacklist people for having different opinions, but I do have been blacklisted for the same reason.
My blacklist is quite clean (less than ten people) so I can't really remove someone.

Forgiveness? WEAKNESS more like it! Consider yourself blacklisted!

With 784 entries on my blacklist it's kinda hard to look up that one person who deserves to be removed. Maybe if the blacklist had better sorting options.

A lot of people here said that I should not give blacklisting so much importance, but I really love this community and I think that we can be more gentle with each other. Blacklisting people that have a different opinion? Or for not saying thanks? Let's try to face these things with an open heart.
Here's the deal: ride this train for some inspirational quotes about forgiveness (if you want to), check your blacklist, choose one person to give a second chance and post a comment saying why you did it.
Don't want to do that? Make a giveaway, post a nice comment, etc. Let's make the SG community even better with the power of forgiveness.
