Great suggestion, unfortunately I've already played it on PS2. It indeed was great. Not especially gameplaywise since the controls were a little inacurate in my opinion but the unique art design and creative story made more than up for this. : )
Still thank you!

Trine 3 is 3D. The other trines are 2D. But trine 3 is really terrible so I wouldn't recommend it
Comment has been collapsed.
The first 2 were amazing 2D games. But now the devs tried experimenting with 3D. But as a result, they fully admitted that they were too ambitous and ran out of time and money. So the game is about 1/3 of its intended length and the gameplay and 3D perspective is unpolished and definetly feels rushed.

Ok I see. Judging by the screenshots on steamstore it looked like they made some boss battles into 3d while the core mechanics stayed 2d.: As mentioned. I would probably go with the first or second one instead . And your post just encouraged me with that. : )

I've played A Story About My Uncle and enjoyed it very much. Unique and fun gameplay and a real thick atmosphere. About Last Tinker, I'll probably wait for it to be released in another Daedalic Bundle. And about Sonic Adventure 2: I've never been a fan of the blue hedgehog but this game was one of the few ones I liked...or maybe more like the only one? .-. I never tried DX wich seems to be kinda similar though. So I might try that one. Thanks for your suggestions. : )

I would give The Last Tinker a hard pass if I were you, even though I personally loved the game. The store page is really misleading. It has all the hallmarks of a classic mascot platformer, except... the platforming. Gorgeous visuals, colorful, great characters, sound, story, collectibles, but it uses assassin's creed style "hold A for platforming."

When I bought my Xbox 360 years ago I got a copy of Kung Fu-Panda with it. While I never considered that game to be really good I still enjoyed it because of the setting and tune. The game you linked reminds me very much on that plus seems to have nice gameplay. Went to my wishlist. Thanks. : )

Oh I liked the seond Alice game. Haven't played the first though. I really liked the creativity of the design and it's atmosphere, Gameplaywise it wasn't exactly like innovative since it basically was a god of war-clone with some more jump and run passages but the gameplay still was fun. Better ripped off good than inovated bad. : )
E:// Also thanks for that other suggestions. That Pac-Man game and especially Poi are looking interesting.

There is another one - Epic Mickey 2, but I have played it on X360 and it was quite disappointing (especially as single-player experience).

Hi there!
I've just made a little puzzle train. It contains one of the games, which I suggested in my post.
If You have some spare time, try solving the jiggies and who knows, maybe fortune will smile upon You? ( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )

hi Adzik, to be honest I really don't know if I'm in the mood for that puzzle today. Also doesn't look too easy. When will the train be launching?
But don't get me wrong. I still really appreciate that you thought of this thread and posted this here. So thank you. : )

'Travel the universe with Hat Kid as you rival the evil Mustache Girl in order to save the world!'
The description alone is a reason to look deeper into this one. Videos on Steam also looks very nice. Another one wich found it it's way to my wishlist. Thank you. : )

I actually liked it but the camera handling was the worst I ever had to deal with :D

Psychonauts, A Story about my uncle (this one is a first person), and...LEGO games?
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess I can say why; you have to really love them to play, cause they (specially the old ones, like sw and batman) are repetitive and broken, the IA helps you like a baby and the gameplay is boring if you didn't have a friend to play along

I know what you mean sometimes there are games wich really aren't good but have something that attracts you to them. For me BlackSoul was such a case.
Abut Glass Wings: The controls indeed look a bit fuzzy. One can tell even by the gameplay video..I checked the mentioned giveaway but don't feel like doing 18 tasks to get the key for it. .-. Still thanks for mentioning it and for your other suggestions as well. : )

When I first saw the game I foolishly dismissed it because it seemed a bit weird, but I played it and it certainly has some unique mechanics that make it interesting, so I ended up really enjoying it. Add me on Steam if you would like a copy, I happen to have an extra =P
edit: I swear that I read quite some time ago that a sequel was in the works, but I'm not sure what the story with that is

Oh, I can relate to that. Doesn't matter to me to be honest though. Most, if not everyone around here has a backlog of games they have yet to play. As long as the intention is there to play it some day that's good enough for me. The game hardly cost anything anyway. The offer stands.

Poi. It's still in Eary Acess but seems to be what you are looking for.

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and Poi. They are both in early access right now. Ty is in EA because they are making sure everything is stable while they improve graphics and whatnot. The game is 100% complete and playable. I'm not sure what state Poi is in because I don't own it, but I've heard it's really good.

Beyond Good and Evil it's a wonderful 3D adventure/Platformer, but people says that the GOG version works better than the Steam one. It aged very well.
The Legacy of Kain games, couldn't recommend those games enough. Defiance has a really shitty camera but the story is top notch.
Other recommendations and classics:

Thanks for the nice suggestions
While I think I own almost every mentionable game for the Gamecube, Beyond Good and Evil is one game that somehow has bypassed me. But I always thought it does look really worth playing and still do. Will surely get that one some day. Enslaved is also something I definitely wanna try sooner or later. Same goes for Oddworld since I loved the two first games. This one seems way different but I'd like to give it a try. And if it's only for the sake of returning to that universe.: )
About Prince of Persia: I really liked Sands of Time. Was an inspiring piece for much of the actual games like Assassin's Creed, Batman etc. but as great as I found it to be as disapointed I was about Warrior Within wich tried to be adult and cool way to hard in my opinion...I also tried out one of them on 360. Don't remember the exact name but it had a real artistic cel-shading style. But while it looked really good the gameplay seemed much to light. Wich games of the series besides Sands of Time would you recommend?
Comment has been collapsed.
As a fan of the Prince. I've played them all (even the HORRIBLE Prince of Persia 3D)
Loved Sands of time but the sequels also dissapointed me. Warrior Within bored me to death. Two Thrones is a bit better.
The 2008 reboot is not that bad. That is the one with cell shading. Kind of average game.
But I preferred The Forgotten Sands. The platforming in that one is superb, mostly in the second half with all the new powers combined. The game is not memorable, it's pretty short and the story kind of lame, but is not bad at all. Unfairly underrated IMHO. .

While back in times of N64 and the first Playstation we got a bunch of these released, nowadays it seems like an endangered species.
I'm really looking forward to the release of Yooka-Laylee (kind of a succesor to Banjo-Kazooie games from the same team in case you haven't heard about) but since this will take at least until october for this I wonder if you know any good games that are already available out there in the steam-pool. Thanks for every suggestion. : )
