coming to ps4 is weird not ps5? maybe should come to both?

Kinda sounds more like a quick cash-job, as Persona 5 hasn't been released yet on PS5 either.

Don't really need Scramble, just give us the damn P5R.

anyone familiar with Persona 5 et al, can you tell me if it matters if Persona 5 is played before Strikers or not? i absolutely do not have a console and am not in the market for one, so idk if i should wait for the inevitable Steam release of Persona 5 before i bother with this one, or if it just doesn't matter so i can play it in whatever order?

It seems to be a direct continuation of P5, but I haven't play P5R which probably has a more complete story.
The party meets in P5 and seems to be already together in P5S.
The combat seems to be different from previous personas (JRPG-like, turn-based) and more like DmC or FF XV (guesses by the trailer).
PS I've completed P5 on RPCS3, it's fully playable.

hmm, if it's a direct continuation then it's probably best to wait for 5 to hit Steam just to get the full experience. thank you!

Don't think it makes much sense to announce a sequel / spinoff coming to Steam before the main game. The sales will probably suffer as a result of many people skipping it until they can play the games in order.

Feel the same. Although maybe there's not much of a plot connection or references between the two games, beyond the playable characters.

Well, they want to release worldwide since it become success when jp version release. Perhaps with localization it'll increases more.

It feels bad to who actually wants to play the main series on pc first.

This is a brand new game that has yet to be released, which is a sequel to a PS3/4 game.

On the one hand, I'm glad it's coming to PC.

On the other hand, given Persona's history with releasing a better version of the game a year later, I'm thinking we should just wait for the eventual Persona 5 Strikers Golden Royal edition.

That's for mainline titles.
I don't think Persona Q Platinum will launch anytime soon.

True, but we're talking about a mainline title here, and not a Persona / Etrian Odyssey crossover game for the 3DS.

I don't think you can consider P5S a mainline title.
Its core gameplay is very different and P5's story doesn't need a sequel (not complaining).
For comparison, think about the P2 duology. They are intricately connected, both in story and gameplay.
P5S does blur the line, but I'd argue that it is still its own thing.

Oh, you're right. I saw people saying it was the sequel to P5, but now I see it's actually more of a crossover between P5 and Dynasty Warriors - which makes it a lot less exciting for me, personally, as I never found Dynasty Warrior style games particularly fun to play (aside from maybe the older Lord of the Rings games).

I think it is a sequel to the game, despite the Dynasty Warriors style. Personally, I'm thrilled that Atlus (or SEGA on behalf of Atlus, or however it works) is working on bringing its games to PC, but I really can't begin to understand what goes into this kind of decision-making. Them releasing a sorta-sequel to Persona 5--one that seems to assume that players are familiar with the character arcs in the original--before making Persona 5 vanilla or Royal available to PC gamers is such a weird move.

+1, it is a weird game. Also, I don't know if it will sell that well at launch. My bet is that many will think twice before buying P5S without a P5 release on Steam. Maybe that will make more people emulate P5, which may hurt sales in the future. I guess that they decided to do a simultaneous launch in the west, either to do how it goes or as their new business strategy from now on.

It is weird. I don't understand it myself, but I'm happy to see Atlus bring any of their games to PC, hoping that it's a sign of more games to come.
