I just beat HL2 weeks ago for the first time and I felt like I played a really cool and awesome game with a really good story and environment, all was perfect and I felt satisfied with my hours spent on HL2... I FELT LUCKY OF HAVE HL2 EP1 AND EP2 AND HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE STORY STILL :)!

I feel like I need to know a good journey without wait release dates :)

What did you felt, how was the game for you?

...Disappointed to say the most.
After all the good things I've heard about the game, I guess my expectations were too high...
BUT. When I reached the end of the game, I thought it was really great. A few weeks later I played a second time through the story... I now know that I LOVE the game.

"How much longer is this fucking boat section?"

Lolz...The first time I played, I abandoned the boat halfway and started to run through the tunnels. I lost most of my health because I touched that poisoned water and finally died when I reached the end of the tunnel and that helicopter showed up.

Well the airboat section seemed forever when I first played HL2, but I was able to endure it because I'm a vehicle simulator lover (although it still felt long). But after playing it multiple times it feels too short now =|

HL2 EP1 EP2 is one of the best games I played, many years have passed and I still have faith that one day will come out the HL2 EP3, I think that we just need to know this game end of this great game

I replayed it and got 100% achievements on it too just because it's an awesome game and gives that awesome nostalgia feeling.

I remember the first time I saw HL2 in a magazine... and a trailer thing... it showed that water tentacle thingy in the prison that never got into the final game, also the graphics were so :O at that time, I didn't even have a PC back then, when HL2 came out I only just got my first PC that could just run HL1, and I did play that by the way, awesome experience too... and fk flickering lights, those eat up FPS like hell =)

Except the grub and gnome ones in episode 2, haha. Those are just infuriating (the grub one because of all the cheap places they hid them and for the gnome, trying to keep it in the freaking car, hehe). :D

"Jesus fucking christ, fine, I'll play the damn game"
"Well, it definitely was nice for its time, but that time was quite awhile ago... I am starting to think people's nostalgia exaggerated how amazing this game is if they think it still upholds to today's standards"
been in boat for awhile "I think I will play something else"

Something like that.

I guess it depends on person. James Cameron's Avatar also received mixed reviews. Ones fell in love, others were like "meh".

Personally, yesterday finished my 9th playthrough (synergy mod counts, doesn't it?)

I'm playing through the Half Life series myself now. Half Life 1 is really good for a game made a decade and a half ago. It's really neat how what I've played so far seems like one long level, I haven't seen anything else like it.

I enjoyed it for the most part, though wasn't enjoying the XBox vehicle controls.

My PC of the time had to run Half-Life in 320 * 200, so no playing Half-Life 2 on that thing. I used the PS2 version of the first game a lot more.

I REALLY enjoyed HL, I really enjoyed HL2, I enjoyed HL2:e1 and I'm still currently playing HL2:e2, I've enjoyed it so far.

The story is pretty good, though not the greatest story of any game I've played by far. The game play compliments the story very well though, which is something that a lot of games over the past 15 or so years really lack.

Valve has done a good job of bringing the different elements that make up a game together very well, what they really lack is good scheduling... >_< Where the hell is HL3 dammit!?!? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I am a total HL freak. I played HL1 twice, HL2 4 times and both episodes 3 times. I completely love this game.
