What should I do with this gift?

So, I won a game that I did not had in my library (I clearly remember looking at the game page to see if it was a good game), but now that I got the key I realized that the game had turned up overnight In my steam library.

What do I do with the key?

Don't touch the key ( / return the gift) and contact the giveaway creator (easiest way is to leave a comment on the gib) and explain the situation and ask them to reroll.

If the creator fails to do so you mark it not received.

Edit: Apparently there are ~ 50 people in the same situation like you.

no need to mark as not received. The game was delivered, and OP has the game in inventory.
Just don't mark it at all

Yes but AFAIK if the winner already owns the game and asks to reroll and the creator fails to do so; the winner can mark not received anyway.

Plus in this case the GA creator is somewhat problematic and has made several GAs for misleading games before.

welp, I marked as received as soon as I won the key, I only later realized that I already had it.

I tried to contact the creator, but he did not responded so far.

This is exactly why you do not mark the game "received" until you have redeemed it to your inventory.

Return the key to the creator of the giveaway and leave the feedback as "awaiting response/unmarked." If for some reason you cannot do that, mark it as "not received."

Well, I knew that I did not had the game,
I marked right away so I would not forget later and wasted the creator's time.

I'm waiting for the creator to reply to me on steam.

Yep, just contact the giveaway creator, explain the situation and send the gift back so he can reroll.

request the reroll as others stated, but this creator won't care so after the week is up, mark it not received.

Remember, if you ever win a game more than once, you should only redeem one copy, mark additional copies as not received, and ask those giveaway creators to request a new winner.
