Don't touch the key ( / return the gift) and contact the giveaway creator (easiest way is to leave a comment on the gib) and explain the situation and ask them to reroll.
If the creator fails to do so you mark it not received.
Edit: Apparently there are ~ 50 people in the same situation like you.

Yes but AFAIK if the winner already owns the game and asks to reroll and the creator fails to do so; the winner can mark not received anyway.
Plus in this case the GA creator is somewhat problematic and has made several GAs for misleading games before.

This is exactly why you do not mark the game "received" until you have redeemed it to your inventory.
Return the key to the creator of the giveaway and leave the feedback as "awaiting response/unmarked." If for some reason you cannot do that, mark it as "not received."
