There are 20 lefts and rights in the puzzle and it is supposed to be a 4 letter word. 5 per letter? I don't know what I am doing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, I tried right = 1 and left = 0, then I got 4 binary numbers. In decimal it was 19 4 18 19, which does not translate well via Ascii Table. And if you assume A=1, B=2, ..., then you get "SDRS", which was obviously wrong. With right = 0 and left = 1 the second number is a 27, which means it cannot be translated with A=1, B=2, etc.
So in conclusion, I still have no idea. But at least I found a dozen ways it does not work :D

This is the point where I usually post a hint, but this time, judging by all the comments, somehow the puzzle turned to a group puzzle. So let's make it official: from now on you can share your thoughts or guesses here, just don't share the solution directly.
In addition, don't try to guess the password from nothing, you'll loose count and become left with nothing. Instead, try to find it within the maze, some of you are asking the right questions - there already are two huge hints in your comments above.

It's weird, I solved, I'm logged and there are 10 solvers, but 10th is Anonymous. Although I'm 10th.
(Edit: Oh, it got updated after 1 minute or so, so I'm 11th solver actually. Damn, I missed leaderboard).
