And it was epic!

Since 1998 my hope of a good Godzilla movie by an american movie maker was crushed, But this trailer has all my hopes up.

And Bryan Cranston makes it awesome by default.

And that is why I love high budget movies.

Very encouraging. I love all of the Toho Godzilla movies, but that Ferris Bueller one was pure garbage. Looks like Pacific Rim got someone excited enough to pay for a genuine Godzilla movie.

No doubt it will be a great movie!
Btw, for some reason, I misread the title as "a new Gabzilla" :P

I know how it would end....they will kill Godzilla :*( poor Godzilla (I think this must be the common end), no joke, I would really feel sad for Godzilla, I prefer all humans die rather than Godzilla.

You haven't seen many Godzilla movies, have you?

My thinking is he has seen only the 1998 godzilla. Most of the time, godzilla beasts our ass in.

I saw one Japanese where Godzilla lived(there was also a little Godzilla, and a kid who protected him, and I think more monsters, don't know the name ), I saw the 1998 Godzilla too but I remember it was like a toy crushing the town, I also saw the American Godzilla too. I'm not really fan of it, so maybe that's why I could be wrong.

If it's a new start from the beginning, Godzilla is about 50 movies away from dying.

Looks freaking fun. Cranston and Watanabe bring the gravitas.

If it doesn't have cheap effects with people in costumes, it's not really Godzilla. Though I don't mind, it looks like a nice movie.

I'm oddly optimistic. The trailer alone was better than the other american remake..

Also, the trailer got me in the mood to watch Godilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 now. So that's a good sign!

We know there have been at least 2 confirmed monsters (since on the official site it says godzilla faces monsters) but here a screens of the monsters:

Comic-con trailer monster
Flying monster 2
Bug-like arm

So i am excited for some monster on monster action. But the flying monster is not Rodan, as Legendary does not have the rights to Rodan. It is their own flying monster.

I'm still trying to figure out the point of the halo jump from last trailer. Is there an actual reason other than 'it looks cool?'

Yeah, can't figure that one out, too...
I mean, they MUST know what's down there, right? Nowadays everyone and their mother has a smartphone with a cam, so even if they didn't see that huge thing walking into the city, they sure as hell had citizens take pictures of it, right?

Don't ever say that to a true Godzilla fan.

Most consider that movie a good monster movie, But the ONLY thing that had in common with actual godzilla movies was the name. pretty much everything was different.

Actually, most people consider it a mediocre movie, and I agree with them even tho I liked the movie as a kid. It had a great soundtrack though.

Looks cool, but time will tell. I just hope it's not one of those "takes 3 quarters of the movie before they show the monster" type of things.

Honestly, I was really surprised with the new Robocop reboot, it wasn't great, but it was pretty good.

I have "fairly" high hopes for the latest Godzilla movie, I hope they learned from the massive mistake that was Godzilla 1998... o_O

I will be real dissapointed if it is like the 1998 Godzilla. But it seems like from the trailers it will not be.

The trailer reveals multiple scences from movie. I don't know how they pack those into 2 hours.

I'm approaching with caution after that '98 disaster. I love Godzilla, but that one was horrid. The only reason it's allowed to rot on my shelf is for the sake of having it in my collection... but that's sorta like keeping a rotten apple in your fruit bowl to fill it out. :p

That said, I'm not going to write it off just because it's American like the '98 movie. The trailer really does look awesome, and it's actually got my hopes up too.
