Need for Speed Most Wanted - played it on Vita, can access DLC cars.

Yesterday, I have downloaded Origin's free game of the quarter year, NFS Most Wanted. EA had a promotion already on Vita last year, and they gave NFS: Most Wanted for free. On the Vita, you can sync your Origin account, so it can keep track of your progress. My friend also downloaded it, and he said, that almost every car he spotted, needed a DLC. However for me, all the cars were unlocked, since I 100%-ed Single Player on the Vita.
So my question would be: Did this happen to you too? Because in my opinion, this is a really interesting thing, since the Vita has no DLCs, so either it has all content already, or no content at all.
