UPDATE!!!

DerrickG™ 24 minutes ago
We are going to make some alterations to the current restriction to make it less sensitive for users. Once the changes are made we will be sure to let you know ahead of time before they go live.

For now, the restriction has been turned off. You are now free to trade and/or use the market if you were hitting this.

Like the title says, once you apply the latest update, you're done for!

The new feature blocks trading from your account for 15 days. Each time you log in from a different device, the same thing happens.

Each time you reinstall Steam or delete the Steam cookies, the same thing happens.

What do you think of this massive pile of doo doo?

They already have it via Steamguard.

If people run the risk of using the same password for both Steam and their email account, surely even the most clueless imbecile should be able to see that this is the one way they could successfully render Steamguard ineffective.

Nobody deserves to have their hacked, but these folks only have themselves to blame if it happens. The system shoudn't sacrifice usability to protect a tiny minority of hard-of-thinking users from themselves.

Hopefully Valve will think their "solution" through this time, and come up with something we can all be happy with.

The restriction is back, it seems. Locked me out on my browser for no apparent reason, I didn't even clear any cookies.

It works for me in the client, but only after restart if I don't open the market in my browser. If I open the market page in the browser the client gets locked as well, but restarting the client helps. Kinda weird.

And it's back with a fresh ban until 14.09. Good that there was a nice Humble bundle a week ago. Time to start Origin...

Seems like youre not alone in this
Also i got the same market lock few minutes ago (mine is till 9/9/2013)
EDIT
lol i managed to list one card from my inventory on market via client although im apparently locked from using it and then 5 minutes later i cant sell anything through client. Still that doesnt explain why was i able to freely use market via client while locked on browser.
I think theyre messing with something

Found out I'm banned from the market until 9/4/2013 through a browser but no message on the client. It wouldn't let me sell anything though. Restarted the client and it seemed to fix it but this is just a poorly thought out system by Valve.

No Steam Market Purchases or Trades for next 15 days; Thanks again Steam, I can't thank you enough. Hope this hurts them financially.
