Well I'm at work, but I don't think the internet connection had anything to do with it. I clicked on it almost as soon as he opened the thread, a few seconds after or so.

Both links work for me. EU region issues, perhaps.

Hmm...so now we can only install that, and it will update itself automatically and such? Sounds good.

I'm actually very happy to see that mods aren't dead on Steam. Now hopefully Black Mesa, Cry of Fear etc can get proper releases.

Wasn't Black Mesa greenlit? Not that I'm even 100% sure what that means.

They were, but the developers are not going to put out an actual release until more content has been finished.

Seems pointless and quite late, isn't the standalone version coming soon™?

actually, it's now easier to update your DayZ :P

Not pointless at all. The Standalone and the mod are developed side by side, so support will continue for both as long as the standalone is being worked on.

Is that this stand alone version ?

Nope. It wouldn't be free for one. It clearly says Mod in the title, in the graphic, in the gold box, etc O_o

I play Dayz but my Arma isn't on Steam ^_^.

I also found a helicopter today and put it on a roof so that no one steals it while I'm offline :3.

I wonder how disheartening it is to get something like that scraped together, only to be shot out of the sky by a sharpshooter. I'm sure it draws a lot more attention to yourself than a bus even.

Day Z Mod requires Arma II: Combined Operations which is made up of Arma II and Arma II: Operation Arrowhead. You must first launch ARMA II and ARMA II Operation Arrowhead before running Day Z for the first time.

NOW LET'S DO TEH HARLEM SHAKE

Still waiting for the standalone. How's that one shaping up?

Here is a link to the development blog. They were hoping to have something out before 2012 ended but they've decided to go for quality instead of rushing. There's no solid ETA but there is talk of closed testing among other things.
