Turns out you can make your own cable for Rocksmith. This guy has done and has posted his code and instructions. The arduino is only needed to program a EEPROM chip.

Maybe this will make Rocksmith giveaways more possible; for example, a private one where each entry must provide a verified photo of his guitar and make a solemn vow to make the cable

no need, you can use the "no-cable" fix. It works for RS2014
