I am really surprised at this point WoW just isn't free for everyone to freely download. They would still make money off expansions as well as membership fees. With the player base getting smaller and smaller and their work going towards other projects, it just makes sense.

It is free to download and play up to level 20.
The game costs $20, but goes on sale for $5 and includes a free month while Mists of Pandaria is $9.99. You would have to pay $15 for a month regardless, so paying $15 for the game and a month makes no difference.

Stay far far FAR away from WoW. Nothing good will come from playing it. Game is infested with bots, hackers and trolls. Been playing since vanilla & just recently had enough. I'm proud to say I am now 4 months sober & finally free from that cursed game.

Last time I checked, Trolls was a part of the game.

Runescape sober for 2 years now. I played for 7 years. I somehow want to go back, but the updates turned it into bullshit... Feeling kinda sad. :(

I resubscribed two days ago... queuing for dungeons/LFR takes ages even on popular realms!

LFR - Lag Frustration Rage.
I'd rather take a swift kick in the junk than queue for LFR. As if the usual 1 hour wait isn't horrible enough, Once you do get into a group, you have to deal with the crybabies & trolls. Battlegrounds are even worse with the long Horde queue & massive bot infestation. Have fun.

It also seems that the realms-crossing didn't work out well for them. :-)

Oh God no... they picked me.... my life.... I feel it being drained... my soul... for.... the.... Horde

What he said was, this was announced a few days ago, and you can get it as a new player. The last part of the comment was referring to how addictive the game can be I guess, meaning he may end up paying for subscription making him not so smart.

I got it as well, except, in the email it says: *Act fast, as your free game time expires September 26, 2014, after which you'll need to subscribe to continue playing.

Believe they also gave Pandaria to old subscribers too, went and looked at my account and it has it now even though I never bought it.

I don't get anything for given them 3 years? Pfffft

Here's what I want to know. At the end of the 30 days, will we be expected to buy the games if we want to keep playing? Or did they literally just give away a bunch of free copies for us to own and simply have to keep paying the reup cost every month?

So it seems like today Blizzard has gifted a free copy of WoW + Cataclysm + 30 days of gametime to most of the Hearthstone players (not all of them).
Finally they realized that the game was dying lol.
If you are a Hearthstone player you should check your e-mail and the Battle.net desktop app to see if you was chosen to have a free copy of WoW.
I hope you enjoy your free game and if you didn't get it there are many other good MMOs.
FOR THE ALLIANCE!!!
