In other words, because Valve aren't letting you buy it on Steam and are giving refunds against the developers/publishers wishes, they have decided to give a big fuck you to Valve by letting people download it from Steam. Well a tiny fuck you because bandwidth is cheap.
Actually, when someone adds a non-Steam key to Steam for the Steam version, does this mean the devs/publishers have to pay Valve or not ?
If they should pay, but they don't, what happens ?

If any money should change hands, then Valve would have automated bookkeeping to track it all. So they will notice when the War Z account says that the War Z devs owe Valve money. And Valve should be paying more attention to War Z after Valve took the highly unusual step of offering refunds publicly.
So if Valve doesn't notice on their own, they don't deserve anyone pointing it out for them.

bought a copy because this is literally the only game you can buy with a shell gift card.
i made accounts for myself and 2 of the "24h guest" things and got 3 different steam keys but when you launch the game it makes you log into your WarZ account, so the steam keys from the guest passes after 24 hours would give you a title in your library that you would be able to launch and then get a loader with a login screen that you cannot get past.

They literally took props and textures straight from WarInc Battlezone or whatever, their other game, instead of taking the time to actually give two fucks about this new game. Their "original" weapon customization is an identical copy of Crysis 2's. Plus, it doesn't matter if no one reads the Terms and Conditions, them stealing it just shows that they put no effort into making the game. They completely decided to jump onto DayZ's success and didn't even bother to make a game that wasn't complete rubbish, also they said they had WarZ in development since before DayZ came out, but thats complete BS as well

Doesn't DayZ use all of Arma 2's assets aswell? DayZ standalone is confirmed to use the assets aswell and still have to be purchased. Also nearly every successful game has been using other game's mechanics in order to cater to a larger crowd. A'la killstreaks.

the reason that complaint comes up so often in WarZ discussion, is because the devs claimed it was in production prior to the DayZ craze, and used screenshots to prove it. But it was discovered that all the screenshots and other evidence they supplied could easily be made within the War Inc. game with some slight editing.

There's a difference between making a mod with things from the game you're modding, and making a full blown game taking everything from another game you made. Its not the end of the world, but its the lazy way to go, and it doesn't show that you give two fucks about your project. The WarZ developers are just in it to make a quick buck, and they're doing a great job at it.
