Im against it, if you want to use your Blacklist expensive then take care yourself of it and organize it. If you dont want to do that dont use it or live with the first 1k or whatever the limit is you Blacklisted. if cap would be 5k you would come after 5k people and ask for 10k slots so more slots never help. Im not into hosting websites but i guess there is a reason hosting wise why the bl is limited.

So let SG give us the tools to manage our blacklists and not let us be dependant of scripts, I would be happy with a way to manage said list.

i think cg has better things to do then that. u can always make your own excel or whatever format u prefer to use for it and can organize it yourself. If you think thats to time consuming then dont ask someone else to have to code something and do the work. But ofc thats only my opinion. Keep in mind that im not English foreigner so it may sound saltier then it is meaned.

I'm not a native English speaker also so I get what you are saying. SG provided us with a blacklist and whitelist so he should give us the tools to manage them.

I understand the sentiment, which is why I purged my blacklist a while ago. Not gonna bother wasting my time managing a list of peeps I don't care about, and I keep most of the good stuff for my whitelist/groups anyways.
I don't see the cap being raised anytime soon. /shrug

I think you are right, I didn't expect so much negativity on a question like this.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, you asking to have more of the absolute most negativity-inducing thing on this site. I mean, I'd be surprised if many forum-users would agree on it, especially since the past months it seems to be more fashionable to abandon using blacklist altogether.

Well there you have it, I'm not a fashionable guy and I like to follow my own path instead of following the masses.

Apparently not as pathetic as you since you have nothing better to do then stalking people on the forum. Yes I blacklisted you and I have my reasons, now move on with your life.

True, but take a few seconds to consider this: you are trying to ask for more opportunities to dwell on shutting out people of something based on arbitrary personal criteria instead of trying to focus on the more positive aspects of this site.
In the end, how you use the blacklist is your decision, but you also have to accept that it being the most negativity and drama inducing feature of the site, talking about wanting to use it even more will naturally generate even more negativity. And so far this thread is almost surprisingly civil, lacking hostility.

maybe you should just make whitelist giveaways. no one will complain and it's even more restrictive than a blacklist.
I don't see cg adding more slots soon.
nice to see blacklist crusaders in this thread. seems they either do only group giveaways, spend 5 minutes per day on sg (so everyone is awesome!) or they are angry leeches that hate blacklists.
Comment has been collapsed.
I might do that yes but on the other hand I do enjoy making public giveaways also.

Blacklist carebears mystify me. They are the epitome of "This is why we can't have nice things": why continue to reward people who are actively attempting to destroy the community you're both members of?
I give away bundle leftovers, mostly stay out of the forums, and generally mind my own business; despite all that, my blacklist is still at 312 users (323 before installing the permaban checker script just now). One of the reasons I only really give away bundle leftovers is that the tools available for me to manage giveaways here are kind of a joke - the fact that using SGTools is necessary to filter for such simple criteria as non-activated wins is a perfect example - and I don't want to risk having to send a $40 game to someone who last made a giveaway 3 years ago, has a 10:1 CV ratio and only uses Steam to play CS:GO for 14 hours a day anyway.
SGTools can be a helpful resource if you have an inkling how the syntax works (I don't) and assuming it continues to be acceptable for use on this site.
Restricting giveaways to higher levels isn't really a solution; there are still plenty of leechers and rulebreakers at level 4, 5, 6, etc., with the additional complication that there seems to be a mafia effect going on at those levels - a bunch of the people on my blacklist are there because they earned their CV mostly by trading games amongst small groups of their friends, and now use that CV to enter and win lots and lots of higher-level public giveaways. Why this is allowed is beyond me, but it has really shaken my conviction that the higher levels are populated mostly by "good guys." IMO, the minimum number of entries needed for a giveaway to contribute toward a user's CV needs to be greatly increased - 5 is a joke. 25 or more would probably work.
All in all... I don't get it. It's like SG is purposefully making things as hard on itself and its support staff as it can.

i suggested increasing the level so he can remove some people from his blacklist. for example, if you make giveaways for lv5+, you don't need to blacklist lv4- and free up a lot of space.
it's not the perfect solution but the default options on sg can be mixed to reach what you want. :3
currently lv7+ has 1.564 users, lv6+ 3.256. with a 1000-slots blacklist you can perfectly manage to control lv6-7 giveaways by removing unwanted individuals.
unless you hate everyone and you need to blacklist 3000 from the ~3200 lv6 users...

No, yeah, I see what you're saying and I agree that it's a manageable option given the lack of alternatives - I'm just pointing out (as a general response to suggestions elsewhere in the thread) that simply pegging your giveaways to some arbitrary higher level doesn't do nearly as much to filter out the "less scrupulous" users as you'd expect.

I think you misread some things, I do not want to use a 3rd party on SG, that means no scripts or SGtools. And I'm not just asking for myself, there are plenty of people here that have no idea about scripts or don't want to use scripts.
But I understand it's easier to just not read whole topic and just try to make a funny remark. And also if you are using a quote please use something I actually said.

That would only have any practicality in the real world.
I mean...you dont do private GA´s, how would it ever be of any use to you, besides showing your anger towards the community?
Comment has been collapsed.
Is this question directed to me? If so please explain yourself :)
Comment has been collapsed.
To everyone that makes low level public GA´s, really. i can only see it being of use when the number of entries is low.
What are the chances of the winner being on the blacklist?
I just don't understand why you would need a bigger blacklist. It might just as well be to remember which ones you dont like
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't understand what you mean with I don't do private giveaways. If I make a public giveaway the people who are blacklisted by me do not see my giveaway. If I only make private ga's people get to see that they are blacklisted by me, so how am I directing my anger towards the community? And why? Because I do not want certain people to win a game from me does that make me an angry person?
Comment has been collapsed.
what im saying is their chances of winning would be low anyway.
Also, that now instead of using this site to relax, you have a never ending job of finding people to blacklist
Comment has been collapsed.
besides, if you are blacklisting for any minor rule breaking, it would be a never ending and ever growing blacklist.

Start your own group with blakjack and hookers and don't deal with blacklisting anymore. You'll be happier, like most of the elitists(!) around here.

This is prolly asked multiple times before so I will ask it once more, a thousand spaces on the blacklist in a community with over 100.000 members is way too small, you have to be able to at least have 5000 spaces on it.
Removing people from it is out of the question since there is no way of sorting the damn list in any way, and for the people who say use scripts, I don't want to use scripts. SG gave us a blacklist so the least they can do is make it easy to sort.
And again with the amount of rulebreakers here a thousand spaces is nothing.
