Women lift too! Are we allowed to enter the GA? ;-)

Yes, the guys are also allowed to wear pink crop-tops in the gym! Actually I don't wear those at all lol :-)

I.. don't even know about that, what kind of insufferable mentally lapsed individual would react that way?
I was just thinking about how omigosh adorable it could be, to color-coordinate a gym in pink. :X
Also, it can be a very flattering color on some guys..
Besides, pink is a manly color, at least until it was changed between the 1940s and 50s.
Inane gender associations related to colors is unfathomably ridiculous, especially in the presence of much longer-standing contrary historical associations. :X
But then, think we already clarified the people that'd care about such, don't have opinions that matter :X

Yeah, they say that pink started to be "women color" after Hitler started to label like this homosexuals. My family always wanted to buy me pink clothes and dolls even when I said out loud that I hate this colour. Meh. Bc I'm a girl and it's normal to put me in this ugly colour.
"But then, think we already clarified the people that'd care about such, don't have opinions that matter :X" I like this statement :D
(It's a picture of uncle who dressed as princess because his niece was shy and didn't want to dress as one. So he said that if it will make her feel better he will dress as princess as well. That's one of best things I saw recently :D)

Well then, it's like the internet is getting small.

I am a man. My birthday is on International Womens day... so, only one day a year can I actually jokingly say in partial truth that I am a gift to all women. My sister has the birthdate of the original Star Wars movie. She has no idea how cool that is. My mother has fireworks on her birthday. Then, my grandmother is celebrated as a national holiday in Mexico. Me? I get International Womens day!
Then again, there is also the Man's Prayer from the Red Green Show

Oh Red Green. He makes my loins quiver. I had a heart attack when i found out that they post all of their episodes for free online.

I didn't know about either of those days, there's to many holidays.

That is also incorrect. While there are self-proclaimed "feminists" who attack men for being men, that's not really what feminism is about, and does not fall under the ideology. People like that are very visible, but they make up a very small minority (contrary to popular belief on the internet, hence why it's sometimes called "internet feminism").
The definition of feminism is "An ideology striving for equal social rights for women" (as compared to men).
Comment has been collapsed.
Don't confuse the classic feminist movement/current equalist movement, with the "modern feminist" movement, which tends to aim less for equality, and more for 'all the things'.
The unfortunate circumstance of having indistinct groupings is, the bad gets mixed in with the good, all too easily.
Of course, there's some pretty notable good, that still embrace the title of feminist.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm not denying that there are extreme elements (as noted above), but as with everything else, it's the extreme elements that are visible.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, no, think you misunderstood me.
I was supporting your view, and trying to clarify it-
Feminists don't generally associate with the 'modern' (or as you called it, 'internet') feminists, who don't care about equality, but just about 'all the privileges, none of the responsibilities'.
And yet, when people think about Feminism, they think about that lot [or about bra-burning, etc].
So while yes, there's a ton of misogynistic bigots out there that don't even want to TRY and figure out the movement and understand it and give it any remote sense of appreciation, despite it originating in the 1890s and having a long, accomplished history..
..there's also a lot of groups that take the name and misuse it, giving unfortunate credence to such negative outlooks.
My point is, it's important to clarify that feminism and what people often consider feminists, isn't usually based in the same principles.

Feminists wouldn't even allow men to have their own shelter when the first battered shelters were made. In fact they chased the woman that tried to create the first battered men's shelter out of the country. Why would they support a day to celebrate men?
Comment has been collapsed.
Because you're claiming that a few rotten eggs who don't follow the core ideas of the ideology make the ideology itself bad. I can't think of any other large group that has that problem....
Comment has been collapsed.
Few rotten eggs? Excuse my anecdotal evidence, but I have yet to encounter a feminist in my life that agreed I should have the same rights, privileges, and etc as women. And I live in New York. The 2nd biggest liberal capitol of the U.S. We're swimming in feminists here. My college of 10,000 especially is swimming in them. We have annual seminars where feminists teach us that men are all rapists and that we need to be taught how to NOT rape women.
Few rotten eggs? If there's only a few, why can't I see the real ones? My feminist ex-girlfriend complained to me on end that boys that made advances on her were raping her, and then she held a knife to my throat and tried to rape me! A man I never met saved me. The same girlfriend used to beat me in the hallways of high school. She left noticeable claw marks and bruises on my body, teachers watched, her friends laughed. My other feminist ex-girlfriend tried to get me drunk so she could take advantage of me (she admitted it), yet consistently says that having sex with a drunk woman is not consensual. I told a feminist that I think women should be included in the draft just like men and she told me to kill myself then proceeded to call me a sexist pig that supports the patriarchy!
Few rotten eggs? Again, excuse my anecdotal evidence. But quoting the evidence of the life of Erin Pizzey (An equal-rights supporter. Once feminist, turned to men's rights once she saw how truly evil feminists are) failed on you. Please...where are these REAL feminists? The ones that actually care about equality? I desperately need them in my life.
Also, please don't ever tell me what I "claim". Thank you.

Well, I can think of this political party, and this political party, both following feminist ideals, both openly proclaiming that they are feminist, and having the feminist ideals as part of their party programs. There, two of Sweden's largest political parties, openly feminists, and the former being a party that I've had a good amount of contact with due to me knowing an active member.
But you don't think of them as feminists, because they are not standing out in an extreme way with their "feminist ideas".
Feminism can be split into roughly 4 categories (with more sub-categories). Liberal feminism is the "bog standard" equal rights one. Sexual discrimination is bad, don't judge someone by gender. Most feminist will fall into this camp.
Marxism feminism is a heavily leftist leaning brand of feminism, viewing it as a class gap.
Socialist feminism is the belief that women are being marginalized, and often gender roles in general, as part of a social construct, and that this is what needs to be fixed.
The above three don't view men as "enemies", but rather think that society should be changed, they do have different views on how though.
And then there's the last category, which is small but very loud, and that's radical feminism. Here you have the stereotypical "man hater".
Comment has been collapsed.
Eh no, those are two of the largest political parties in Sweden that I linked to. Actually, out of the current major parties (the ones forming the government), 6 out of 8 have the core feminist ideas in their party program.
And no, you're talking about a political party that does not have any seats in the government and did abysmal in the election. Don't limit your view on what a feminist is to the very very loud minority. It'st he same mistake that people who think that all gamers are immature kids who think sending death threats is ok make, they see the loud part and assume that that's the norm.

Again I'd quote Pizzey's life and my anecdotal evidence. I can't see them as a minority. At least not in the United States. I'd like to believe if "good" feminists were real, they would have helped Pizzey. That they would be less-impossible to find in my country. I would like to see a movement of these good ones. My state has too many bad ones.

Yay for having political parties that has got feminist ideas \o/.
Sadly our politicians here some time ago wanted to push through our parliament shit like "prison sentence for every abortion" "in vitro ban" "any kind of gender ideology should be illegal" and so on.

Lucky that both those days and other ones do exist, can exist and can be celebrated as there are nations in the world were there's totally no gender equality (amongst other things like for example freedom of sexual orientation; gender identity; Religion, movement, etc).
Comment has been collapsed.
That's one of the points of both men's & women's day, to raise awareness of the equality gap, both in their own country, and in countries that have it worse.
There are also days for raising awareness of sexual oppression.
Of course, having "days" for things won't in itself solve these issues, but making people aware of them is at least a small step on the road.

International Men's Day is celebrated in over 70 countries,[5] including Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Burundi
Damn, I could have gotten a day off today (they probably wouldn't let me but still).

and don't confuse it with the men's world day, that was allready on 03rd of november xD.
And in Germany, we have our own men's day on the exact same day we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus.
weird stuff, but the right time to be drunk and manly, or something like this.

In honour of it, I'm giving away the manliest game I could find (quality not guaranteed).
