Hello ladies and gentlemen, trolls and trollettes.
Post your favourite knight from the King Arthur legends (can be Arthur himself, a knight from the round table, a knight they fought at a time,...) and have the chance to win King Arthur and Crusader Kings II. I will randomly draw the winner from all valid entries and send him or her a Steam invite.

A few rules:

  1. Only one entry per person

  2. Give at least a short reason why you chose this particular knight - one sentence is enough, I won't count entries only dropping a name and nothing else

  3. You can get bonus points (= more raffle tickets, higher chance of winning) if you: a) name my favourite knight (I won't tell who it is of course), b) provide an awesome, funny, touching, or otherwise well thought out reason for your choice, c) make something creative based on your answer like writing a story or drawing a picture (it has to be your own work and additional bonus points if it contains the king of animals - the majestic octopus!)

  4. If you already have one (or both) of the games, please say so in your post

  5. Post your entries in this thread before Tuesday the 14th

I would say Sir Gawain. Just as knightly and chivalric as Lancelot, but overlooked by popular culture, I'd say. (Oh, and I already have King Arthur, though I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.) Also, please allow me to be the first one to utter the terrible pun about Sir Thanks-a-lot.

I would love to see a game set in the "historical" age of King Arthur. When I saw plate mail in the King Arthur game I was really sad.

I would like to see such a game as well but I don't mind King Arthur not being historical accurate. It's more of a fantasy game anyway. And don't forget that most if not all medieval handwritings about King Arthur were ahistorical, too. Usually the plot was transferred into the writer'.s time

(Reminds me of an ancient, half-amateur Czech RPG (or was it adventure?) "Knights of the Grail". I guess I should try to find some info about it, if it's even possible.)

King arthur cause even till now, we still don't know his gender completely.

I think most people would agree that s/he is Arthur not Arturia because he did sire a son with his sister and so far i know of only one work where he is female and that is fate/stay night.

It seems that all the early sources seem to indicate that Arthur was male. Y Gododdin for example also uses the male pronoun. It seems that the female version of Arthur was a much later development. It's a bit disappointing because the native Britons did have female rulers and warriors occasionally.

Setting aside Fate SN, we don't have much to prove what gender is King Arthur, don't you agree?

Galahad (Lancelot's son) would be my favorite knight from the Arthurian legends because he found the holy grail and obtain it unlike his father, who found it but couldn't get it because he wasn't pure for having thoughts about Guinevere(King Arthur's wife). But, alas he requested to die as to not be tainted (you either die good, or live long enough to see you become evil) to lose the holy grail.

My favorite knight is Gawain because as a kid I loved this one book about the green knight. I already have both games so I see no reason to elaborate futher (Basically, this is not an entry).

Do the knights who say Ni count?

If they do, well, Nee and Peng Won are cool, but Ni is the best. Also, they hate a certain word which is also an evil clown, there's that.

Yes, I don't see a reason why knights from Monty Python should not count.

Considering King Arthur's legend is composed of a host of tales written by different people in different ages, including the Python's creation isn't that far-fetched.

Sir Mordred. It takes major balls to be a traitor to Arthur. P.S.: I don't really have a favorite, but since I had to choose, might as well go against the flock.

The one with a sword, a shiny armor and a horse. Why? Because he's got a sword, a shiny armor and a horse!

What about the one who is brave, strong, noble and likes to participate in jousts?

A knight doesn't have to be brave, strong or noble. But a sword, a shiny armor and a horse are essential.
