Hello ladies and gentlemen, trolls and trollettes.
Post your favourite knight from the King Arthur legends (can be Arthur himself, a knight from the round table, a knight they fought at a time,...) and have the chance to win King Arthur and Crusader Kings II. I will randomly draw the winner from all valid entries and send him or her a Steam invite.

A few rules:

  1. Only one entry per person

  2. Give at least a short reason why you chose this particular knight - one sentence is enough, I won't count entries only dropping a name and nothing else

  3. You can get bonus points (= more raffle tickets, higher chance of winning) if you: a) name my favourite knight (I won't tell who it is of course), b) provide an awesome, funny, touching, or otherwise well thought out reason for your choice, c) make something creative based on your answer like writing a story or drawing a picture (it has to be your own work and additional bonus points if it contains the king of animals - the majestic octopus!)

  4. If you already have one (or both) of the games, please say so in your post

  5. Post your entries in this thread before Tuesday the 14th

Everyone knows that King Arthur was killed by his old friend Merdok .

So hers the story : Everytime then King Arthur was sitting in the round table with his knights he was talking about wars . Merdok wanted to get the throne before Arthur , but he failed . So his dream was to kill Arthur and become the king . In the bloody war , arthur was killed by poisonous blade , but ARTHUR made a hole in his body , so they both died .

THE END

I thought that king arthur was killed by his son. they both swung their swords at the same time but during the process, arthur lost the scabbard and got fatally injured. but he managed to kill his son. then afterwards he died from the wounds but not before he sent his knight to throw Excalibur back into the lake.

I'll have to go with King Arthur as portrayed by Sean Connery. He really is the king of the people and it's not hard to imagine giving your existence for him.

Sir Bedivere. The act of returning Excalibur to the Lady of the Lake is quite majestic albeit sad.

Sir Kay.
Every kiss begins with him! I also tried making a pun since I could say a Sir Kiss starts with a Sir Kay, and Sir Kiss sounds like circus, but I lack the wit to do so. I hope to god Kay is relevant in wherever Reineke lives =(.

Also, as for your favorite knight I believe it is Sir Safer! I believe you chose him because he was a "Safer" (ehh? ehhhh?) choice that wouldn't be picked often!

(I own CKII)

Oh yes, Sir Kay is known in Germany, too. He's called Keie around here. In the German Arthurian legends he's usually just a side character, though. F.ex. Keie's spurring Iwein on going on a quest to revenge the humiliation of Iwein's family member Kalogrenant with his bad mouthed comments. :-D

King Arthur, considering my name is Arthur.
Obviously, I'm one of his descendants. I guess one of his descendants married someone Chinese.

Perceval. He had a mother who was slightly off, who, after the death of his father, raised him in the depths of the forest so as to keep him ignorant (in her eyes, 'safe') from the outside world and its affairs. However, he overcomes his upbringing and becomes a Knight of Arthur after his worthiness and abilities as a warrior are validated.

Lancelot all the way. Why so? I like the episode where he damn appears and defeats the gryphon(even if with help from Merlin), I like his personality and I do like the couple he does with Guinevere.

Personally I like Sir Galahad, because he was born an illegitimate son to Lancelot, but still took the seat of 'Siege Perilous', where no-one else had succeeded the test, becomes the proclaimed greatest knight ever by Arthur himself, then proceeds to travel alone to find the grail, defeating all in his path, and is finally is the only knight to see the grail. It's a bit like an underdog story. Being a bastard child, people don't expect much of you, then you instantly go and prove yourself to everyone, exceeding all expectations! It's a rather awesome story in my opinion.
