Come on! I just bought BioShock 1 on Steam for the same price... :/

Why did you buy a game not in daily or flash sales ?

Looks like a daily deal to me...

lol, bioshock was 3.74$ here, even in a sale the price in your country is really high

That's why I didn't buy it here xD

It is a daily deal. There are lots of games that aren't on that main page that are daily deals...

Why does it seem like Amazon has the best deals?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Because it does. Steam sales have been getting progressively worse, yet we all still look forward to them.

Steam has some best deals, Amazon has others, GMG has others etc.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

True, but the number of 'best deals' on Steam has been getting lower and lower recently. Generally I'd say GMG and Amazon are better.

Yes, it is true. GMG has far better price on Mortal Kombat for example, and is by far better choice for preorders and new games. On the other hand, we got Russians on Steam, and the cheapest MK you can get is there. :D

+1.

Steam hasn't changed anything it has been doing. Other sites have just gotten better at competing (and more often now, beating steam).

Amazon requires shipping, though... Doesn't it?

Not for the 'download' products. You just get a Steam key.

You pay tax, depending on where you live.

I'd use Amazon, to be honest, but I feel like there's a reason why I shouldn't use it...

I guess I'm over-excited about the steam summer sale.

I use everything available to try and get the best prices. I stick with either Steam or DRM-free though. I don't want to download anymore clients.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Steam has decent prices and it uses cloud or whatever it's called, so I can't lose my stuff. Although, most of the clients use that, no?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I wouldn't really know, I just don't want to have a hundred game clients on my computer.

Meh, I'm from UK so I'm using an address in a state with no sales tax. S'pose you actual Americans can't exactly get away with that one.

Don't forget to use state which doesn't require paying taxes. Only couple of states do it, google it to not choose the wrong one. :)

Just add US address to your account and use it at checkout. That's how all of us non-US citizens do it. :)

So the credit card can be non-US? Which address do I put? LOL

Check for a restaurant in New York or any place from US, then just copy/paste some of their data and done. Use a EU card and works fine. Bought already like 4 or 5 games ( DOWNLOADABLE ) from amazon.com. Just remember to be a downloadable game.

I'm still not sure if that's legit and if it's going to cause you trouble on Amazon eventually.

No it wont, I have been buying things from Amazon for years and I'm from Uruguay

"Things" or games? Because I occasionally buy physical products from Amazon and I don't want my account or credit card to be disabled.

...Pretty sure you won't get in trouble for this. It's like lying about your age when going into an 18+ area.

Also, they get the money they want, why it should be a problem? The problem would be to buy physical things, then you have to pay the taxes at the entry of your country if I'm not wrong. In my case, if I would like to buy something shipped to me from amazon.com, I would have to pay the "entry" fees into my country ( spain ) wich are 21%.

@mkrnic, recently ( like 2 weeks ago ) I bought some hardware upgrade for my PC, I bought them from amazon.es to not have trouble with the entry fees and other stuff. Used same card, same account, and they didn't even said something.

Don't forget the Gooncave coupon as well which takes it down to $4.24.

Note: It's a ONE time use coupon, so decide whether or not you want to use it on this purchase.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Honestly, for a one time use coupon, I'd save it for something that would give more than a .75 discount.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

So would I, but it also depends on how long that coupon will be active for (which no one seems to know).

Note: Bioshock 2 requires Games for Windows LIVE to activate. Um... I don't get it, it says Steam DRM. Are both for Steam or the other?

Bioshock 2 uses GFWL no matter what, I'm pretty sure. Fucking windows live...
