If anything, the timing is questionable, in that it's pretty much the least active time on steamgifts. 6am to midday in Europe, so people are at work, midnight to 6am in east coast usa, so everyone's asleep; You do hit the late evening in California (9pm to 3 am) and the early evening in the east of Australia (2pm to 8pm), but if you want to give a lot of people the opportunity to enter, then you should consider a different time frame.
Note that this is a matter of personal preference. I've created 4 week GAs and 1 hour GAs, depending on what I felt like.
