I believe Duke Nukem has something to say about that.

You can use your laptop, but you will need a special cable. As it is now, with the cable you have, it wont start the PC at all, I fear.
EDIT: After watching the vid, I must change my statement. You can use your computer in that car. Sorry about that.

So, maybe wait 30 minutes before trying it, while on the go, and unplug it when we're parked somewhere?
Thanks for the answer, by the way. D8

the potential issue is the current. your laptop requires a minimum amount of current (amps) and the outlet in a car has a maximum amount of current it can provide (it may be labeled near the outlet, and should be labeled on the laptop power brick). if the maximum current the car can provide is less than the minimum the laptop needs, then you're going to blow a fuse in the car or not be able to power the laptop.

oh and for personal experience, my car has an outlet and it doesn't have enough current to power my laptop. when i tried, windows got all confused trying to figure out if it was plugged in, and it basically just ran off the battery.

wont hurt the car or the laptop doing it but when i use my laptop in the car it will not provide enough power to both charge the battery and run the laptop at the same time and this laptop is... horrible
all you can really do it try it, worst that can happen is a blown fuse in the car which is really easy to replace

Your first problem is it might be DC current oppose to AC. Another might be that it won't get enough amps required to initiate charge, but should be enough to play off of. What current specs does it say on your laptops power pack? The big square thing. Amps.

Okay, so I've been on a week-long vacation in North Carolina. My family rented a car for the trip, a Chrysler Town & Country 2012. Since we drove through the night on the way here, I slept through the trip... but we're leaving during the day this time, so I can't just sleep the trip off, at least not easily.
I'd like to know if it's safe to plug in my laptop into the 3 Pronged Outlet in the middle seat. I've love to play some games to pass time. AssCreed 2 and Deus Ex. Maybe I can beat them before I arrive back home! (Halfway through each)
My laptop is a ASUS G74SX... I've been reading about volts and stuff, but it's really confusing to me. I have a slight learning disability, so I don't want to mess anything up... the car, nor the laptop. ESPECIALLY NOT THE LAPTOP.
My power cord says the input is 100-240 Volts, and the output is 19.5 Volts.
This video shows the plugs... and the volts or something... but... I'm weary. Is it safe to use?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Please don't let me blow up anything tomorrow morning!
