Hey guys, I'd like to know if there is a steam game that comes near this one.. it's for my brother :)

Raze

The game is normally played in a small map with +- 10 players (bots, because it's a singleplayer game)

game has team deathmatch, free for all, ctf,...

Hope you guys can help me, thanks

it's a 2D shooter in which you controll the gun with the mouse.
It's actually a really fun game, the only downside is that it doesn't save your game on the site..
That's why we're looking for a steam version :)

:O
It's one of my favorite flash game ever!

But yeah, about the save game, doesn't he play Raze 2? It's even better, and you can save the game using an online save feature.

Then instead of looking for another game, we should find a solution to the problem. Check to see if the browser doesn't delete cookies or cache, or if you have an antivirus, I'd check there as well. Also, right click on the game screen, then Settings. Let the webpage store unlimited information.

Also, there just might be a way to keep the game directly on your computer, but I don't know if it would save the game as well...

That would be to:

  1. Go on the webpage where the game is being hosted (in this case, http://armorgames.com/play/5395/raze).
  2. Wait until the game is FULLY loaded.
  3. Click on the webpage anywhere (but not on the game screen).
  4. Click "Save Page As..."
  5. Save it in a folder (Personally, I create a new folder onto my desktop).
  6. Open the folder you saved it in. You'll see a webpage shortcut and a folder. Open the folder, and like for a .sfw file (should be called raze-5395.sfw).
  7. If you have a program that runs .sfw files, double click on that file. Other wise, open a browser window, then drag and drop the .sfw file onto that window.

You can then enjoy playing the game without the use of the internet... Only, I have no idea whether your game will be saved or not. You can only try. :P

I know of one similar, its called Booster Trooper. I played it once and immediately thought back to Raze. I never got into it though but you can check it out.

The gameplay reminded me immediately of a game from 1995, called Abuse, although it's not on steam. Actually it's afaik abandonware, so a quick google search will tell you how to get it.

A game from 1995? If I remember rightly, not too many online games for multiplayer......(I know this is a REALLY bad one but I have to say it anyway).......isn't that self-abuse?

"The game is normally played in a small map with +- 10 players (bots, because it's a singleplayer game)" I didn't saw in the OP that he's actually looking for a MP game, but rather for a side scroller where you aim with your mouse

I think he edited the description in after I posted, I don't seem to recall that particular information coming from anywhere but Google when I searched for it. From SilverGames.com;

"Raze is a futuristic shooting game full of action. Battle against aliens and robots and fight for your planet. Control your character with WASD, aim and shoot with your mouse. Change weapon with 1-9. Much fun with Raze, the ultimate fighting game!"

Well, I never saw a true MP Flash game before, so the armorgames.com link was already an indicator for me that he's looking for a SP game.

Awesomenauts might be enjoyable, it has a similar control scheme. More MOBA and less FPS though.
