Available for preorder on Steam now, comes out on the 20th.

I own an actual copy of Maxwell's Rooster hat (preorder bonus for the original Scribblenauts for DS). This is going to be so awesome.

Especially with an object creator. The only way this game is not going to be awesome is if 5th Cell replaced their brains with lukewarm oatmeal and totally blew it.

Here's the trailer for the WiiU version, which should be mostly the same for the core gameplay. Seriously could not find any videos on youtube for the PC version, it's all the consoles, and most of it from E3.

Scribblenauts allows you to summon almost anything you can think of and use it, with proper interactions, to solve a puzzle. For example, the first puzzle in the original game asked you to get the Starite that's in a tree, too high for Maxwell to jump.

You could get an axe to chop it down, or a ladder to climb up, or a rock to knock it down, or give Maxwell a fishing rod or a stick to dislodge it... and those are just the conventional ways of handling things. You could burn the tree down, too.

This adds even more power by letting you use adjectives and create your own objects.

It's got a simple, cartoony style, but it's a way awesome game.

Incidentally, the game handles things like "time machine". Leading one person who got to play with Scribblenauts (the original) at E3, when it was first being shown, to capture the hearts and imaginations of almost everyone on NeoGAF with these magic words: I FUCKING TRAVELED THROUGH TIME AND JUMPED ON A DINOSAUR AND USED IT TO KILL MOTHERFUCKING ROBOT ZOMBIES.

Now, it's actually an inaccurate description of what happened, because you can't actually ride dinosaurs in the original Scribblenauts, but Post 217 is legendary. This even happened. That is official art. And Feep became a part of Scribblenauts forever, as it was still being worked on after E3.

I have attempted to explain this awesome game to someone who had never heard of it and thinks it looks like Happy Wheels. At this point, YouTube (for gameplay videos) will have to do the rest.

If I can afford it, I'll put a copy of the game up on SG.

How to be rich:
Step 1: Create great game that many people would love to play.
Step 2: Release it in only a few regions so not all people can buy it.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Hit head with brick and imagine you own a villa.

They are probably still translating it. Super Scribblenauts for the NDS had about 15 languages.

Personally, cant wait to get it. Awesome games :D

I mean, what other game you can do a Giant Zombie T-Rex fight a Giant Flying Robot Chtulu?

Hm. It's a bigger sandbox than Minecraft, with what they're promising.

That's apparently how good it's going to be. Not sure if worth 30 bucks though. Might wait till a sale.

I preordered two copies of the original for DS, one for me and one for my buddy in Japan, sight-unseen. I HAVE NO REGRETS.

Seriously. This game is a puzzle game that doesn't feel like a puzzle game, it feels like a game that is infinitely more clever than you are, but it wants to show you something new every time.

I didn't enjoy the first game very much but I hear super scribblenauts is supposed to be rather quaint. I'll check this out but the price is rather steep.

Well, the trailer doesn't really show any gameplay so I can't properly judge it, but it definitely doesn't look like a game I'd pay $30 for.

Weird shit, it's region restricted in a ton of countries in europe but it is available in argentina. Did I somehow got warped to a parallel universe?

Basically, this, but even better. This same "come up with whatever" mechanic is applied to puzzles, where you're given a task and total freedom to accomplish it.

It has almost everything. Everything.

If you've played Super Scribblenauts (the first one was rather limited) and enjoyed it, this will easily be worth $30, but not more than that. I do still think it's publisher restrictions, Warner Bros. has done this with other games on other platforms, e.g. Scribblenauts Remix and Bastion on iOS, both of which I can't buy from my country's store. Sucks that even on digital platforms they have to work this out.
