I don't think it should be essential. Some people just paste it, does that really show their gratefulness? I personally read the description, if something is asked I answer to it, if not I simply say thanks, however I say it in a variety of ways, not just a meaningless "Thanks".

Well... people who actually won that game will most likely say thanks when they receive the email containing the key.
And I think it would just lead to spam when everybody says 'thanks'.

Please, people, realise finally that everything is alright the way it is now. Don't screw up anything. If somebody wants to contribute, let them contribute. If somebody just wants to leech, let them leech. That's why there is the possibilty to make contributor values as "entry fees". Full stop.

'Don't you think that only people who write a comment should have a chance to win ? I think that yes, because it shows how thankful they are and it shows they care about the owner of the giveaway and they show that they care about the money spent for them on the giveaway'
I think you should use your brain from time to time.
it shows how thankful they are - no
they care about the owner of the giveaway - no
they show that they care about the money spent for them on the giveaway - no

I disagree. I'm quite new to this site and when I see AAA-gifts, I wondered why the only comments are "thanks" in some variations - I've seen no sincere thanks, something personal so one can see that it's not a copy/paste or script. (I would really appreciate that!)
There are many professional traders in this forum so especially those gifts are competed for by them. And by setting a contributor-limitation absolutely no professional is excluded.
Its the opposite case: People who dare to participate in certain titles they maybe can't afford etc have (almost)no chance of winning anything if you set a minimum of 2k$. Professionals, though, can boost every account of theirs just by GAing bundle titles that are worthless for trade...

That's ridiculous. Here's what that would accomplish:
Increased spam. (Forcing everyone to say "thanks" = "thanks" spam.)
SteamGifts would run slower because everyone would be spamming at once.
No one would ever bother to actually say anything thankful anymore because no one would ever bother to read through all the spam to find anything meaningful.
