How high was your death count at the end of TEW?
Wow, I didn't expect that people died that much in the game, didn't really show in the reviews I've read/watched.
For some reason I always die a lot in games that feature precision platform jumping, I really suck at that. As an example, there was a sequence in Half-Life 2 where you jump at boxes floating in toxic water... took me way too many attempts to get it right, and I'm not talking about 3-4 tries, more like 30-40.
I played Never Alone recently, and it was almost silly, I probably exceeded your death ratio from TEW in that game, and it's supposed to be a fairly simple platformer. In this video there are 74 deaths, and I died a lot more :D
Thanks for the giveaway, looking forward to dying a lot if I'm lucky enough to win! Although when there are no platform elements I generally perform a bit better ;)

Oh I did not so bad at Never Alone (it was a pretty nice game btw ^^) but when it comes to jumping in first person games I tend to have some problems, too. An exception was Metroid Prime on the Gamecube wich to my surprise had jump controls wich where very good to handle.

I tend to die an absurd amount of times in some games, I think my record was over 300 deaths in a single level of Electronic Super Joy. I'll look for the screenshot and link it later.
Don't own The Evil Within, so thanks for the gib. Bump :)

I completely forgot to actually link the picture :P Here it is.
Yeah, that's kind of the point of that game, but 309 for one level was a bit ridiculous XD

Here is my "already own it, ashamed that I haven't played it yet" bump.:)

Congrats so far and i hope you don't see anyone with less deaths ^^ Especially the person winning this one. That would be really weird :O ^^ And appreciate it thank you :)

By today after about 31 hours of playtime I finally managed to beat The Evil Within. When I reached the ending screen it showed me a count of 228 deaths and hell that sure is what it's felt like. Seeing this amount I was curious about other people did and went for some google research: I stumbled about a thread on gamefaqs where people wrote down their count.
And guess what, among 128 answers in total there were not a single person who beat my 'score' ^_^ well, actually there was one person who refered a friend with 274 deaths but since it was submitted not by the person itself I will not count that one
And despite that and being glad to have this finally done I nonetheless really enjoyed the game. While dieing a lot the feeling of reward when making it through a hard passage was great. Definitely felt some Souls series spirit there. Other than that visually it was a great experience. There were many different scenarios. I didn't expect the game to be so diversified. Have to admit the story was bit hard to follow and I'm still pretty puzzled about what exactly was going on there But that's ok. It was still not uninteresting and I'm now looking forward to play the 3 DLCs wich already found their way into my library...after a little break.
If you, like I was for a good amount of time, are still not sure if this game is worth your money why don't go and just win it?
