...But do you guys have like a mental threshold as to how much free space you mentally do not want to lose on your hard drive?

Mine is 300Gbs free. I try and keep my laptop's hard drive at least 300Gbs free. What is yours if you have one?

My first HDD was 1GB big, so even 50MB free space is good =)

at first it was 100gb , now it is 90 gb.

man i wish i could have more than 300gb, my laptop has 282gb, its kinda funny how it has more space than my friends pc.

It's 2013... data storage is like 4 or 5 cents per gigabyte. Why are you worrying about storage space?

I can't remember the last time I was anywhere even remotely close to having a drive be "too full".

I don't worry about storage space, I just like having security with just one HDD on my laptop.

Currently using roughly 9TB out of 10TB on the file-server excluding backups and mirrored system volume.
EDIT: storage is cheap today.

mine is 75% and up to 50% at max.. not really carrying about how much it is; I even care less if it's less than 500GB

I have 5 HD Discs wich is close to 3 TB storage, and the only one that is not full is my windows drive wich I have like 40GB free on.
