Nothing to stop someone making the giveaway today and adding the keys in a day or two, even if the giveaway were to finish today. Depends how SG want to handle that I suppose. If it was just free through Steam then that wouldn't be a problem.

If your GA starts before game keys or copies actually become free, your GA cannot be set back. Just like it can't be bundled CV if a non-bundled game was GA and it gets bundled before GA ends. So yeah I suppose you can do a GA before game goes free. I had a humble bundle gift link GA starting just last night [20 July] and ended few minutes after midnight. Today seeing this news in the morning I was like WTF WOW. So far the game is still not free. :)
Game will be technically free only today evening UK time. Any GAs ending and marked received before should count. Worst is it gets 0 CV worst come worst.

Judging by past, when paid games go free, cards start to require some purchases to drop.
So, probably will require purchasing rest of episodes to get licence to card.

Sell them. Ep 1 is the actual base game so all steam keys will get card drops. I sold all of mine 3 cards today morning itself. Prices will crash once free game is out today evening. You can buy back cheap and make some profit yeah. Grimm is a good example yeah.

Seems you can launch game from SteamDB link and it appears to be F2P mode as in not permanent to account. So won't get card drops. You can of course make them through gems manually.

that's why I refuse to buy from Steam directly anymore. Once you buy shit you figure it is bundled 3 weeks later of course along with more shit you wanted for 1/3 the price you paid.

That's a good question and by experience with with e.g. the Mega Drive emulator on Steam I would say, you will not be able to get your friend's DLC content (Episodes 2-5/Season Pass) in family sharing.

Usually, no. The rest of the episodes are considered DLC, and you can never use the DLC at family sharing if you have the base game. It causes all sorts of license-handling issues over the separate accounts.

No. But you can use his complete game as long as you don't get any part of it.

Source: Brother plays my copy of episodic Hitman, no issues whatsoever, he even has access to pre-order DLC, while friend of mine bought Xcom Complete for his son and learned that having base game disallow him from sharing DLC from son.

A lot of games can be shared but any game that has a 3rd party launcher can not be shared.It can be hit and miss as to what can be shared while most things can some still can not even if it does not use a 3rd party launcher.

As far as DLC goes..

A guest will have access to the lender's DLC, but only if the guest doesn't also own the base game. Guests may not purchase DLC for a base game they don't own. Any player may purchase, trade, earn, or otherwise acquire in-game content while playing a game, but in-game items cannot be shared between accounts. These items remain the property of the account that purchased or acquired them, whether borrowing or lending the base game.

Also region restrictions are still in play and whoever you share your account with be careful as VAC bans do carry over to the person sharing.

Play the first episode, see if you like it.

It plays every similar to a TellTale game. Those games (and this one) are more about the story, more like an interactive movie than an actual game. not everyone is interested in that, and if you don't like the gameplay, stay away from them.
(also note that The Wolf Among Us is a bit more action-heavy compared to the other similar games I've played)

But if you don't mind the gameplay (or lack thereof), it's the story that counts. Like movies, there are stories that you'll like more, and stories you'll like less. the story of this game is very different from The Wolf Among Us. It's more like a slow-paced indie movie. But really, just try the soon to be free episode one, and then decide
