I only change my avatar twice a year, once for Halloween and then for Christmas. Both times I use slightly changed versions of my base avatar, both done by jbondguy.
Aside from those occasions I never change my avatar or my name, haven't done so in fact for about a decade.

Ah, I've been changing to his versions too but I never really thought of them as "changing my avatar"... but now I could request versions based on this pic! Too bad Halloween just passed though, it would've been cool to see what he would've done with it.

I actually did my own portrait some time ago that I use on some platforms but I'm waaay to lazy to change my Steam avatar, never changed it. Maybe someday, maybe. :)

Well this is the fifth avatar I've used on steam, although it's probably like the third version of it, I know I've remade it at least twice with small differences. The current one is made in the exact resolution that steam shows profile pics so there's no distortion.

My avatar is of one of the main characters from a game that doesn't exist anymore from a site that doesn't exist anymore. And which very few people (relatively speaking) knew about in the first place. It was an "avatar icon" you could "buy" with points obtained by unlocking achievements. (I had plenty of points to spare since I was in the top 5 on the leaderboards... you just know it's super obscure if I'm in the top 5... XD ) So it may as well be original fanart as far as the vast majority of people who'll ever see it are concerned. ^_^
I have a backup (the other main character from that same game) but... eh, don't see a point in ever changing it.

Yeah, Think i used Kaneki before i even joined SG. With this new one i plan on making my own holiday outfits and stuff when or if i even learn how to do that.

What?? Who the hell is this?? Well, I'm that gal who sometimes shows up to talk about poop containers. Maybe it's easier to recognize me this way?
I decided that I wanted to make my own profile pic. I don't have any artistic talent whatsoever, I don't know how to draw. So I ended up doing some tracing in Illustrator based on this screenshot I took from a gacha game. Not exactly a perfect recreation, I mean there's not even any shading here to speak of, but I think it ended up kinda decent?? Here's the entire artwork I made, and here is the original art it was based on if you want the source.
I'll have to take some time to get used to this one though. I still have the same anime character and the same rad sunglasses but the other one feels like it has become my identity... maybe I'll go back someday, but for now it's nice to use my own thing instead of some art I took from the Internet.
