Well, I know they're working on thief so I wouldn't be surprised if that was their next project.

Hopefully it will take the best parts of the first one, the few things that sounded like an improvement in the second one, and not in any way resemble DX:HR. HR was wildly over-hyped. I was 3 hours into HR when I uninstalled it. I heard IW was bad as well but I bought it anyway. I doubt it's as bad as HR.

Its pretty much common opinion that HR is way better then IW from what I can tell.

I'm one the biggest Deus Ex fans on the planet and I'll confirm that, oh yeah, Invisible War was absolutely horrid. Cookie cutter crap with no imagination and a total railroad of a "plot." Side-quests are inexplicably ludicrous and shoe-horned into the story. Truly painful.

However, it did have one good thing. The soundtrack. They used music from a real band throughout the game, and I tracked down the album and now listen to it a lot. The album was called Trickster (1998) from a band called Kidneythieves. Really good stuff, well worth tracking down.

Regarding "The Fall," it may indeed be something new, but is also from HR:

I think I was the only one who liked Invisible War. I felt HR was too easy. You'd just sneak up behind people and take them out, and that's all there is to it. I prefer the first one WAY above the other two, but I think IW and HR are at about the same level.

I loved Invisible War too. It's my favorite of the three so far.

More like horror. XD

(sorry but I bought it on day one for 50€ and hated it (too short, too shallow, too few redeming qualities) )

That hurts, but even I feel bad about buying it during the Steam sales. The game crashes way too much and my system should be taking it for the ride of it's life.

I thought it was great. I bought it way back when it first came out and loved it. Took me a few weeks to beat it, but there were no problems with it whatsoever. As for Jonex's comment below, I don't know why you would have crashing issues. I've been running it on various computers ranging from a crappy Dell Latitude 120L to a custom quad core system and never saw any crashes.

Did you try playing by non-lethal means? It certainly amps up the difficulty.

In my opinion, the first game was the best (in fact it's actually my favourite game of all time). Human Revolution was still a great game although not as good and it had far more similarities to the first game, than invisible war did.

Invisible War is buggy and way too console-based.

I would love a new Deus Ex game as I've found Human Revolution to be fantastic.

I've gotta finish all three games though, so I'm good for now.
