Do not feel bad for the mods trying to keep the forums consistent. Comply to the rules of the forum which is the basic requirement for all forums. If you think you have a valid argument, you can talk to support. There is also an ongoing discussion about the rules on the site.

I can totally understand it, a little peace of mind can make wonders, and if people on SG can get that close to you, then having a vacation is a great solution to it. Your well-being is important. More important than keeping SG unchanged. Take care!

I'm sorry you feel that way. It is a shame that the world is full of toxic people - both on and off the internet, and I certainly don't blame you for wanting to separate yourself from it for awhile. Unfortunately I am unable to guarantee that things will be better when you return, but here's hoping!

While you will always have people who won't like you (internet and real world) for the silliest reasons (or without any), I think it is a wise decision to take a break from SG if you feel that this is another of these situations for you. I remember being very dependent on people liking me when I was younger, simply because we usually define ourselves by how others perceive us and what they think about us.

I hope that you will find a way to only give heed to what the people you care for, the people who know you think about you. All the others really don't matter. But we have a tendency to notice the one guy passing on the street, giving us the finger instead of our close friends and family who support us.

That being said: Make sure to cut ties with people who don't make you feel good about yourself. also in real life. Some families can be toxic, some people we consider friends can be abusive, selfish or simply energy-draining. Get rid of all these people until you have a handful of trusted family and friends with whom you are comfortable being you. Then, and only then, can you become the person that you truly are without adjusting to other people's believes all the time. And once you become the "real you", you will notice that other people's opinions about you really don't matter.

I wish you, from the bottom of my heart, that you can reach that point and be happy, regardless of anyone else's actions or comments!

I don't know you, but I would take the haters with a grain of salt and ignore them. There will always be people who don't like you, it's just the way the world works whether it's here on SG, the internet as a whole, or in real life.

Sure, in real life, because I am generally nice to people, I have caught them on a few occasions mocking me behind my back. I figure that when you are nice to certain unclassy people, they take you as being soft/moronic. I just figure "fuck them" and pretend not to notice. Next time they need help, I won't volunteer. They can keep on doing that to people because eventually, they'll have no one left who cares and I'll have just excluded someone from my life who wasn't a real friend. =)

On the internet, these same type of people are harder to expose, but they are there and are generally disagreeable. There are people who will never agree with you, even when they know you are right, there are people who will make fun of something you said, but they are also people that you never have to have the unpleasure of meeting. The internet is generally full of assholes because it gives them an outlet to be one anonymously. You don't notice the countless nice people in that moment, because the asshole in the middle has kicked off and spoiled the conversation. Again, I wouldn't let it get me down.

I still like to think that there are more good people than assholes out there. Just gotta try and ignore all the BS.

Sometimes it's better to just plainly ignore what others think about you: this way you avoid a lot of unnecessary anger and stress :D
