One doesn't necessarily mean another. For instance, I almost never pirate games (except for rare occasions - like Tell Me Why that's simply unavailable in Russia) thanks to mostly affordable Steam regional prices, but I do pirate movies and TV shows because local online cinemas offer pathetic dubbed content. Basically, it's often a question of prices and content quality and not of principles.

Funniest terrible german dubbing I've ever heard in a movie or TV show was Battlestar Galactica Reimagined when one of their landing teams gets stuck on Kobol under Cylon attack.
One of the soldiers, a woman says "I'm only in the military because they have a good dental plan."
German translation turns it into:
I'm only in the military because I wanted to become a dental assistant.
I wonder if they pay more attention to get the lip-synch right or what the frack is wrong with those people.

Have you ever seen how they used to dub movies on polish TV?
I saw a bit on satellite TV in the 90s. One guy with his monotone voice was speaking for everybody. Man, woman, it didn't matter. He just spoke over whatever was happening.

I agree. That sounds terrible π Over that I even prefer those lazy-ass german translations.
But if it was up to me I'd wish we'd use the nordish model (Sweden ? if I remember correctly) and not dub content from english speaking countries at all (except maybe kids shows and obviously local content)
I'm my opinion that would greatly help educate the general populus.

That's not necessarily true. People get a little salty when something isn't being shown in their region I think. Most, if not all, Netflix originals are shown internationally.
There are exceptions like Star Trek Discovery. We get it in Europe, but CBS has the rights in North America.

The thing is, they have more original series now than they've ever had before and some of them are pretty good. That's worth the price I currently pay imho. I've never had any complaints.
Disney may have pulled their content, but it's honestly not that noticeable because unless you're a kid, Disney don't have a lot of good series. I didn't feel like it was much of a loss and I'll never pay for Disney+.
If they only had Netflix because the only thing they are interested in was the Marvel series made by Netflix (and cancelled because of Disney move), then they might have been severely disappointed, even a little salty. I liked those too, but at the same time, those are only 4 series, and there's enough other stuff to keep me happy. =)

By the way if find it amazing how what started out as some good old, harmless trolling turned into one of the most pleasant threads SG has had for ages. I've been gone for quite a while so maybe I just missed some of the cool stuff that happened in the meantime but we definitely need more threads like this π

Had Netflix for a while, but after they pulled two shows while I was still watching them I just gave up on it and went back to get my series from 'the internet'. I guess it's fine if you like their own shows, but I honestly wasn't very impressed with them.

yeah thats the biggest problem with netflix. you are just there enjoying a show and then its like cancelled or whatever. Like they suck you in for 3 seasons, leaving them on a cliffhanger then just screw you

i canceled mine, it wasn't much of a loss for me, i had to use vpn to get something remotely good.
a service that gives you movies like cuties ain't targeting me for a customer, i guess i did them a favor.
