...And as a South American, even if my heart is the biggest in the world, I get hammered down with a region-lock crap.

http://imgur.com/nbeJ5M6

Ehhh... So... That pretty much kills me off in Steamgifts as I can't gift region-free games to everyone, and I'm pretty much not wanted by those who REALLY want a safe region-free game.

Now, what do I do? Am I here to stay as all of the people gives games safely, while I have to stay here... Holed up with my region-locked games? :(

Edit: I was about to make a nice giveaway, buuuuuuut...?

I have almost the same problem , here is my solution:
Use Bundle Websites like humbleBundle and resellers like GMG to buy region-free games =d

But... But... I want to giveaway non-bundled games... Just to show how generous I can be :(

I also want to get full value from non-bundled games, or else my advance to bigger levels is going to be SLOW.

sigh I'm fine with buying bundles, but this is not the way...

Edit: Woops, I meant giveaway, not "sell"

I know, pal. But my real fear is to give away something they can't play (Region-Lock)

I'm not even sure if GMG or HB (or Store) offers you a region free Steam Key.

Yeah sorry

But... But... I want to sell non-bundled games

That made it sound like you think they only sell bundled games.

Oh no! I'm fully aware they sell non-bundled keys as well. But I also want to be like the rest of people here, giving away freely because.

But why doing so if you will get a person mad at you because he can't play a key which is meant for another region? :(

I'm from Uruguay, so I understand the region-locked nightmare. Have a Trine 2 to gift away and saldy cant share it on a group I like cos i believe very few people will able to play it.

About HB: they have not been region locked in my experience.

Well, I've been checking this site while talking here:

http://vps202375.ovh.net/STLOCKS/#purchType

It's SteamLocks, I read that it helps if a game is region-locked in a certain store (Humble Store, Nuuvem) or not.

Not sure if it's legit, though, but it shows some accurate results, to be honest.

You can do both. Give locked gift games bought on Steam store and games from bundles.
Steam games are region locked, not much you can do about it.
You can specify a region lock when you create a ga, just so you know. So only people from that region will be able to enter.

You can either give away region locked games or you can buy row games from a trader. Your call. xD

See, THIS is what I'm trying NOT to do.

I don't want to send away a region-locked key, just for the winner to rage at me and then plaster a negative feedback in my gifts sent for everyone to see.

That's why I said it kills me off in SG.

Why don't you make region-locked giveaways then? There is an option for this... :o

Another reason is that I would love to join a group, so I can get some of my games in my small wishlist, if it's possible.

But now that I'm pretty much restricted to do some things, then I really can't have that kind of benefit, if I earned it with being generous and friendly.

But I never told you to make ROW giveaways. o.O I meant that you could make region locked giveaways. Or, if you don't want to, then buy ROW games from a trader.

Yeah happens to me too, a solution would be to get your games from other stores (GMG, Nuuvem, etc.) and make sure they are not region locked (because sometimes they are).

Nuuvem... Hmmm... I've seen that site before, even though it charges in Reais, I'm not sure if it's even legal to buy from a Brazilian site.

Is it?

Why wouldn't it be? Just bear in mind some games are locked to brazil only.

Cities Skylines and Pillars of Eternity. The first wasn't a problem, as a kind soul warned me in time to close it. The latter required me buying a full-price key. In USD...

Yeah something similar happened to me with a Killer is Dead key. Had to buy another one (well I didn't have to, winner told me to reroll but I felt bad). At least I got the other key for myself :P

There has been reports that G2A is known on giving away keys that are already used, and you actually need some G2A shield, to prevent that from happening... That's... iffy...

"Iffy" is a perfect way to describe a site like G2A

I'd add OpiumPulses to that list as well.
They have a nice selection at reasonable prices.

I have only used G2A for a couple of personal purchases (would prefer not to make GAs with them), but so far I've had no issues with their keys.

use VPN to create a Canadian or American Steam Account and buy your games there and send them to your r34l account. Remeber to turn off the VPN when you are going to use yours.

Or just make region restricted giveaways like me =')

I'd like to be able to buy ROW gifts on steam, even if it meant paying US prices. I think such an option should be implemented.

You could make region-locked GAs, buy games at sites like humblebundle, indiegala, gmg, gamersgate, bundlestars, wingamestore and others, or buy bundles there. The game given doesn't need to be bought from steam to count, there are other ways if you want to go them.

You could try to get in a South America private group. Works for me.

Ok, guys, the reason I can't just do a region restricted GA, is because I was planning on making a fun puzzle for everyone to get in and participate, so people could have better chances on winning as well.

But now that the Region Lock thing happened, I'm really afraid of getting in trouble. I've seen some suggestions around here, which I'm very glad to hear, and I should try them.

So, many thanks for them, if you guys have additional information on the matter, then I'm willing to hear.
