This is possibly a price error, so I'd just get it now if you have any interest. Besides, there's already another Asterix game from the same developer that isn't included in this collection, so this is likely going to stay as it is, the "XXL trilogy". Unless another "XXL" game comes along, but you get my point.

Thank you for the notice! Had only #2 and used the roundabout way posted earlier to get the collection:

Remove owned game from account.
Buy as gift with alternate account.
Restore owned game to main account.
Activate gift with main account and accept the warning.

Thank you to DrBeckett for the extra tips!

thanks for the advice. I bought the package by simply deleting the game from my account. in my region, the package is much cheaper than XXL 1 with a discount. so it's not a pity to buy

I love a good deal!
But I must be realistic too and admit I will never come to play them.
So must ... pass on the glitch.

I know it's against all the clichés but some of them might have friends, family or significant others who have an account. ^^

What's the problem with having an alt account on Steam? They can be very useful in several ways. I don't think there's any need to make excuses for people that have an alt.

Possibly implying the possibility of having alts on Steamgifts, which isn't allowed.

Most likely they weren't. I think it was a remark about all the people who gifted the bundle to themselves on Steam from a secondary account to get around the weird limitations. (Not being allowed to buy the bundle if you own any of the games in it.)

Not sure what you're on about. I am neither making excuses nor do I have a problem with alt accounts on Steam. I don't care if anyone has one. I simply stated the fact that you don't need an alt account for getting this collection via gift if you have friends, family or a sginficant other with a Steam account. It was even a bit of a joke hence why I am referring to the clichés and using the ^^ emoji.

I know for a fact that not everyone has or needs an alt account and I doubt that "most people" have one.

Yeah I think most people who have been buying bundles for a while probably have an alt. My alt is a place I add keys for games I think my kids will want to play one day, or ones I can play co-op with them or my wife. With so many bundles where I already have some of the games, I'd rather put them into an account my family can use then let them go to waste. And there's been a few games where you have to do certain things with a friend for an achievement, and it's just easier having a second account then finding someone to play with.
One day when my kids are bigger I'll pass it on and they'll have a decent number of games of their own to get started.

Not everybody has one for nefarious reasons. Many users created alt accounts because gems aren't stacking. You have to trade them to another account to make gem sacks.

I made an alt account for emergencies e.g. if my main account gets hijacked and I'd have to contact Steam support.

You don't have one? Haha!

I have one, but it's just an account that can family share from mine. I don't really want to give family access to my actual account. Wouldn't dream of using it to log into SG, or something equally shitty.

Also put second copies of some board games and things like that on it.

I honestly thought it was standard procedure, at some point you're bound to run into something that requires having an extra Steam account. I have two alts that I use pretty much just to farm cards, made them back when getting freebies that dropped them was a lot more common, having triple the daily cards during sale events is quite nice too.

Cards can be sold for wallet funds, wallet funds can be used to buy cheap games on sale. So while I don't need to farm cards it definitely can help with the whole gaming thing... if I had the time to play games that is, which I've barely had in the last couple of months T_T

I missed it, too. Dagnabit.
My kids'd have loved that bundle. We play XXL1 on Wii as a GameCube game.

Was it one key when you buy it as a gift?

Permalink

It was on sale on the Steam store, so a gift to someone would grant them the games in their account via Steam. No individual nor single key to redeem as it's all happening in-house. Plus Steam makes you choose the gift recipient right away, they don't allow you to stockpile gift games in your inventory anymore.

yes it was definitively a price error. now it is 82% off

Interesting, aside from the changed price, the type of the bundle is also different now. The price changes now depending on what game(s) of it you already own so you can complete your collection. Before you could only buy it as a gift if you already owned one or two of the games that are included.

If you look at how many games are going for >90% off this week, not sure it was a price glitch. But after they realize they could be making more money, they went to 82%.
