I just recently had my computer fixed, and had it's hard drive replaced. However, when I got it back, while it was working fine, I noticed several things missing. Most of it I already fixed, but one thing I can seem to fix is the missing Power button and Search button on the Start menu Windows 8.1. I went online to figure out how to bring them back, but all the solutions I found were for a different OS, or were all exactly same. They all told me to to into the registry and edit some values (won't get into specifics) And every time, it didn't work. I'm running out of options.

Are you on a desktop or laptop? Also what is your screen resolution?
If you are on a desktop have you tried adding “Launcher_ShowPowerButtonOnStartScreen” with a value of 1

Laptop, 1080p, and I've tried that method before. Didn't work.

M'kay from what it seems, it is best to simply do a Vanilla install of Windows.

By the way, what do you mean "it had it's hard drive replaced", it seems from your wording that someone else replaced it? Or did you replace it?

I had someone else replace it. I had a warranty.
