So I recently ordered an Xbox 360 controller for my PC ($25 on eBay), I got it yesterday, and I am beginning to discover the great games one can play with it. I am finding fun in games I thought were boring/annoying before, like SMB. What are some other great games with full controller support (That aren't very performance hungry)?

all valve games should be controllable

you can even split screen portal 2 and play coop locally, one controller one keyboard

I'm hoping to try this with my girlfriend over the summer. :) I'm excited to try the local coop, but I haven't had much fun controlling first-person games with a controller, so we'll have to see how that goes. :P

Yeah, the Source games can accept 360 controllers as long as they use newer versions of the software. I have some games using older versions that are a pain to set up with dual analog and triggers though.

Hmmm, never tried AudioSurf with a controller. Might have to give that a shot.

only play with it if your using puzzle characters. If it's mono, don't even waste your time with the controller :P

Just figured I'd mention it since it is rather similar to Super Meat Boy, just with some combat as well.

Yeah I saw that you were aiming for that style of games, SMB is pushing it for me. Can get annoying. Do you know any non-platformer with a controller support? I dont know why but for some reason when I play GTA EFLC with a controller it laggs like crazy but without it is fine??? It is really puzzling

Well, I know Borderlands supports it. Look at titles that are on console as well, that is usual something that will support them.

I'd actually love to see an actual list, perhaps we could do one here?
As for the games I know has controller support (I've used it myself) and I like:

GTA IV
Beat Hazard
Portal
Braid
Fortix 2
Psychonauts
Super Meat Boy
Lara Croft & The guardian of Light
Death Rally
Might and Magic: Clash of heroes
Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman Arkham City
Bioshock
Bioshock Infinite
Far Cry 3
Lego Harry Potter
Lego Lord of the Rings
Saints Row The Third
Adventures of Shuggy
Tomb Raider Legend

Big agreement with Beat Hazard, the Batmans, Legos, Saints Row, and Shuggy.
Not so much FPS like the Bioshocks and FC3, though.

Shuggy and Beat feels so much better with a controller. I know Bioshock and FC3 works with a controller, and I actually liked it on Bioshock, but not at all on FC3, which probably had to do with the placements of buttons. You really just have to get used to the two sticks for FPS. I usually played on my Xbox up until recently, so I'm used at controller FPS's.

It's just hard for me to do full on FPS with a controller, because the aiming feels slower and less precise.
I've been playing Deus EX: HR lately with controller. Everything is great, since I mostly sneak and melee. But when I want to get in a firefight I sometimes curse trying to be able to aim quick and on point.
Maybe it's worth mentioning that I always turn off auto aim/aim assist, even when using controllers.

Bioshock Infinite worked well IMO. If you need to aim at a specific pixel, a mouse is useful, otherwise, just use whatever is comfortable.

Ever since I got my 360 wired controller, I find the button access to so many actions/functions indispensable. But the aiming still gets me sometimes.

Probably helps that I've been playing on consoles for more than 20 years now, and that included a lot of FPS games like TimeSplitters. Quake III Revolution on the PS2, I'd just use the railgun on everything.

Braid? I tried and I only got the option to play with a keyboard, guess I have to look deeper. Hey how is Fortix 2? I just won the first one a couple of days back and I really like it. Reminds me of my childhood when I played the same style of (mini) game in the game Bully by Rockstar when your character went to Art Class. :)

fortix 2 is Fortix with more everything. More stages, more dragons, more functions (run, controller support, powerups etc.) so it's the same but better :)
I never played Bully though.

I just tested Braid too. Started the game with the controller connected. Worked like a charm within seconds.

If you bought the latest Indie Royale bundle (currently on sale), I can confirm at least Battlepaths and Diehard Dungeon natively support the X360 controller.

EVOLAND all the way. :3 I recently bought an Xbox controller as well, and am loving it so far since a lot of games come with at least partial controller support nowadays. For some games you can use programs like JoyToKey, for example I use that for The Binding Of Isaac since it doesn't have controller support on Steam.

Also you may want to consider grabbing something like Xpadder to allow for controller support in the games that don't have it. While you have to buy the newest version, you can still grab the old versions that are free.

Only game you have that I know supports a controller and is pretty fun is Toki Tori. As far as games I'd rec in general that support the controller, any Ys game. You don't want to play those without a controller to be honest (except maybe Ys I&II Chronicles+) and Ys Origin is why I got my wireless receiver (already have a 360, though I grabbed a second controller as well).

joy2key has always been free. Maps direct input devices to key presses. No idea if it still works in Windows 7, but it was great for flash games when I was poor.

Just another option for the pile. Never been a need for Xpadder, imo.

Castle Crashers is a lot of fun. I enjoy Beat Hazard a lot too. Not sure where these fall on your performance scale, but Fallout 3, Skyrim and Orcs Must Die! work well with the controller too

Pretty much games that were also released on console, like Dead Space etc.
